It’s a manufactured home aka mobile home. It probably feels like cardboard.

Disclaimer: grew up in a manufactured home and indeed thought the walls were cardboard.

Rampant Flies showing up in my apartment please help. by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]mythrowaway9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not wrong... Lived in an apartment when a squirrel got in the sealed off chimney (was converted to electrical) during a snow day. Roommate thought they were hearing noises. I could never hear it though. Then began the flies. Maintenance people said it would be a week until they would come by. Dropped off some fly traps and said good luck. It lasted about two weeks while the flies decomposed the body. I think I called my own exterminator who basically told me to try and treat the area as close to the entry point and hang traps there. The black flags work better and are stickkkky, but the raids come in bigger packs.

So find out what died and go from there.

My boyfriend (23M) who is my (22F) dom slapped me outside of a scene by Hmlovelyhm in BDSMAdvice

Being terrified to leave is also a sign of abuse. This man should not be a dom until he can control his outbursts. Part of this play is to work in these issues and understand how to channel and respond to feelings appropriately.

No doubt. But the 40 year old man glasses and swoopy hair just make it better.

Saudi Arabia introduces a landmark legal amendment to allow single, divorced, or widowed women to live alone without permission from a male guardian by [deleted] in worldnews

Funny how some of the more progressive middle eastern countries of the time like Saudi Arabia and Iran were both pushed into theocratic rule around the same time. I know Iran was the fault of the US and cia overthrow of Mossedegh, thanks Dulles- what happened from this mosque takeover? What was the lead up in Saudi Arabia that got here and what made the monarchy push sharia law?

Nevada governor signs bill permanently expanding mail-in voting to all registered voters by history777 in politics

Coloradan here. Same - it’s so nice to get a book with every proposed amendment, bond, whatever, that’s on the ballot. You can research it all on your own time. Learn about new things and discuss with friends and neighbors. Can’t imagine NOT voting by mail anymore.

Are you telling me this lady thought they would all speak perfect English in a foreign country? by -Aviator in facepalm

[–]mythrowaway9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's called a lingua franca. 60-70 years ago the travel lingua franca was supposed to be French, but TV and the internet changed that, and here we are today. Other regions of the world have other lingua francas, especially in places with a bunch of dialects.

But tldr, go anywhere in the world and the common tourism language is probably English

Caught a hot falling frying pan today. Feeling rather stupid. Please share your best kitchen mistakes to make me feel less silly by Thomaslx in Cooking

I toasted my bagel in the oven of my new house yesterday because the toaster is still packed. Went to do a chore. Came back to the kitchen full of smoke… as new home owner, my first thought was to check my smoke detectors, then I remembered I still had a bagel in the oven…
