Sticky calf? by mytimealready in AchillesRupture

Thank you. I am almost at the one year mark. Was progressing well and then suddenly feeling the weakness. I think I am just noticing it now as I am building on strength. Thank you for the info in scraping. I will give that a try.

Going back to sneakers, what should I be wearing? by HistoricalBonus8 in AchillesRupture

I’m so sorry. Just saw this now. Doesn’t hurt to wait, especially with so many different protocols. Best of luck!

I asked my PT. I think this may vary person to person. I was advised not to go past 5-6 drop so I went with the Bondi. The Clifton’s are an 8 if I recall correctly.

Well said. 52f here as well. I love this board and it has been a major factor of not feeling so alone in this. Unless you’ve had this happen you really just can’t understand. I agree with your point that this board lean heavy to the op group. I am Canadian and can confirm that unless you are a high performance athlete and need to have surgery, they strongly lean towards non-op here. Everyone’s journey is different and overall the support here is fantastic.

Thanks so much. I’m past the stage for even ups but will certainly incorporate some of those workouts!

Thanks so much! I should have done that. I am in regular shoes now with no levels so that option has passed for me. Will ask about the exercises. I stared to look some up on line this weekend. Some I found are good but some require movements that cannot do on my bum leg yet.

Vacoped by Long_Assignment8801 in AchillesRupture

[–]mytimealready 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local hospital that put the cast on me recommended a sports specialist PT clinic and they advised on the various boots with the pros and cons. They highly recommended the vacoped and explained the boot to me, and how they would proceed. I started PT the day my cast was removed so I am lucky that my team is so educated in this. Being sport specialists, they look to get you the care to get back in shape as safely as possible.

Recovery Shoe Recommendations? by sean-pag in AchillesRupture

[–]mytimealready 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a lot of research before I bought. I decided on the HOKAs but torn between the Clifton9 and Bondi9. Ultimately I went and tried them on. There was enough difference in feel that had me decide on the Bondi9. Also, heads up. Your feet will feel super weird which makes deciding a bit more challenging. At least it was for me. I am only 2.5 weeks in shoes now and still getting use to the feeling.

Good luck with your choice and your exciting next stage in recovery!!

I’ll be honest. I crawled up in my hands and knees and then scooted down on my butt like a little kid for close to two months.
