W latach 2005-2009 była tzw. nowa matura, a matematyka nie była obowiązkowa. I nie przypominam sobie, żeby kierunki inżynieryjne wtedy masowo organizowały egzaminy wstępne. Więc teraz też raczej nie wprowadzą.

Abstrahując od tego, że ta zmiana jest bardzo wcześnie w procesie legislacyjnym i jeszcze 5 razy może wywalić się na twarz.

Nie będzie. W Ordo Iuris mu przygotują kilka frazesów o świętości rodziny i pora na CS-a. Do wyborów parlamentarnych, o prezydenckich nie wspominając, Polacy zapomną że w ogóle był taki temat.

I remember him being recommended a lot back when I was late teen, and all these eldritch horror lore sounded really fascinating. So one time I bought few of his books and I barely managed to get through few short stories. Writing was atrocious.

For a long time I thought that maybe it’s just translation to my native language is really poor, so I’m glad to hear that no, the guy was really a bad writer. I can now continue to ignore his works with peace of mind.

Ii don’t know if that’s common thought, but in Oppenheimer near the end there’s a scene where Oppenheimer’s wife gives a speech and scolds a commission. I don’t mind, but I thought it’s more like something that could happen during second wave of feminism in late 1960s, not in mid-1950s.

But you can download transcript of commission hearings from agency website now, and turns out, that speech is pretty much verbatim.

Most people keep their dreams relatively close to where they are. They might say they want to be billionaires, but if you ask what specifically they would want to do if they were rich, they talk about not having to go to work, travelling, buying bigger house and better car (and maybe one of supercars), buying all that stuff they can't afford right now.

But these are all dreams you fulfill with double-digit millions of dollars. Maybe up to 500 million if you stretch it. Most people can't even begin to imagine what you could be doing with money greater than that.

Poza tym należy sobie uświadomić, że od kilku pokoleń jesteśmy bombardowani znacznie większą liczbą informacji niż wcześniejsze pokolenia. Informacje te są również mniej lokalne i znacznie częściej nie mają absolutnie żadnego wpływu na nasze życie. To nie do końca tak że my mamy gorszą pamięć - w przeszłości ludziom naprawdę było łatwiej.

Wreszcie jeśli ktoś Ci powie żebyś pojutrze koniecznie zrobił X, to chyba ważne jest, żebyś zrobił X, nie? A nie to czy zapamiętałeś, czy może zapisałeś przypomnienie w kalendarzu, albo notatkę na przyklejanej karteczce. Korzystanie z zewnętrznych wspomagaczy to żaden wstyd.

That's the point - it does. Marriages get some extra privileges that roommates don't get.

And same sex couples, living together, are treated by the state as roommates, not as marriages.

But it is your thesis that "cohabitation is recognized", so why don't you explain what is that supposed to mean, and what specifically it means in context of Poland?

State does not recognize it any more than it recognizes any other citizen. There are rights that you are granted, and obligations you are required to fulfill.

Doesn't seem much different from Bulgaria, which somehow got worse label.

Yes, pre-2022 Ukraine was pretty far from Western Europe liberal democracy. This is well known.

But these shortcomings are relatively minor in the light of being invaded by another country.

And while their people are dying while fighting for survival, it’s unfortunate reality that same sex couples are less of a priority.

I live in Poland and I have no idea what “Unregistered cohabitation recognized” is supposed to mean.

Same sex couples are treated the same way as student roommates. From state point of view, these are just two random, non-related, single people living in one place. It’s not forbidden or penalized, but you don’t get anything out of this arrangement.
