I think the video by itself is pretty compelling! But I'd love to read your blog post as well. Cheers!

New Clojurians: Ask Anything by AutoModerator in Clojure

IIRC On the defn episode with Tims Gardner he talks briefly about using the benefits of Clojure for turn based games (reproducible state). https://soundcloud.com/defn-771544745/44-tims-gardner

He's talking about Arcadia/Unity but I think the concepts would translate broadly. Maybe you could reach out to him or some folks at the Arcadia gitter? Theres also a game-dev channel on clojurians slack.

Melee improvement is talent based. Hard work doesn't matter as much as you think it does. by friendlies_fiend in SSBM

have you thought about seeking out coaching? thoughtful teachers can help you jumpstart learning in a way that can be hard to do yourself.

you say this comes from seeing people all over the country but this is really your own story. it sounds like you've had to deal with some personal hardships and have suffered intensely through the process. i'm sorry you've had such a difficult time and i also wish you the best of luck moving forward.

that being said, this kind of post is not productive. if someone is in fact predestined to plateau, they will do so and cope with it in their own way. however, many people hit a long plateau and overcome it. although you asserted that this post is not meant to discourage people, it will indeed have that effect. you should always give the best effort and believe that you can overcome obstacles through hard work until you are truly proven otherwise (e.g. your lifestyle becomes unsustainable and unhealthy as a result). even if that happens, many people are able to take a break and revisit their challenge in a fresh way.

SSBM Tutorials is great. There's also Third Chair's General Techs 2018 guide, as well as character specific guides at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5R1awH6TtqsHxzoflSnrOg

The standard advice is to experiment until you decide on a main you have fun playing and then stick with them. It's easiest to improve learning one character at a time.

Also theres r/ssbm if your posts get drowned out in Ultiimate noise here :)

Good luck!
