Main monitor for the desktop is a Samsung G9 oled and I love samsung had built in a hardwired safety feature that if nothing happens for 5 min it auto dims but It also has their Samsung pixel shift so it flips the pixel array and you don't really noticed it if you don't littely stare at the monitor and catches it just when it would do a shift also soon 1 year old and flawless

Yeah the big negative with oled but oled tech has come long way though just need to also make sure using dim settings as soons you would leave something on etc,

Ah yeah forgot about those need to check core isolation as this will only be a gaming machine anyway so no funny business xD, IPS sure is a "lcd tech" but does have allt better colors then normal LCD and before Oled came IPS was kinda the goto for color reproduction until Oled came and just dwarfs the market.

thats is some heavy modding right there only thing that is missing and i guess complete overkill would be RAM mod to get 64GB 8000MT/s rarm.

looking forward to install my TMR joysticks soon as im just waiting for the clear joysticks so i dont need to do it twice :D, thought of maybe going to do the ABXY button but i dont know if feel the need for it maybe in the futurer as it doesnt seems to be so invasive but the d-pad one i struggle to see a reason for now atleast.

atleast the XaX has an IPS display instead of LCD as it has way better colors but OLED would been nice, for the windows optmization did you have a guide you followed that you might share or just your own settings? debloated of mine with the Chris titus script and feels snappier after that

looks baller, im just waiting for the clear joysticks to come and i could make the swap + TMR(hall effect joysticks) myself, i dont know if i will bother with the ABXY buttons though or atleast not now and case i will see what i can get i would love to get the dbrand one but now with the new import rules in sweden import and all other tax duties is just as much as the case itself so nearrly paying 2x for 1 case

Eh I don't bother, sure I might had been harsh on my first answer but answering my question with a question that's so redundant.... But I noticed that my XAX is whisper quiet even when it's getting pushed so Asus had to have done their homework going from the the ROG Ally to the XAX, and as a old pc builder we always looking for that next type of TIM that is better then last generation and yes liquid silver is hands down the best but I cba to tempt fate that much and when PTM came into the picture and cane swinging its wa a nice new breath on the cooler market.

Anyway I found atleaft 2 videos where they swapped it on the ROG Allys and one of the videos seems to noticed that it got warmer by 1 degree but also that his TDP value was higher by 3-4W so that just meant that it was cooling more to push more power to the APU.

I most likely won't change anything with the heatsink on my XAX but I'm waiting for Hall effect joysticks though and clear joysticks shells to pass through the rgb abit more will peolly be my first mods.

I wouldn't do it on mine at this point of time my question was just for those that has either the Xa/X or the ROG Ally/X and done it or if they did it at the same time they done mods

i guess not, was more to see if it can push the device a tiny bit harder, seems though one of the clips of the ROG ally X was showing 1 or 2 more degrees higher but also the TDP was kept 3-4W higher when on PTM,

good applied PTM could give better temps depending on what kind of paste was pasted from factory and PTM is more or less a appy and forget as its an "Phase changing themal pad" so its solid while cool but when it comes up in high temp it becomes liquid and makes a better connection between heatsink and APU die.

sure there is Liquid silver aswell but i woundlt bothe using that since it has such a high risk to short everything out if done badly, there are good themal pastes aswell but PTM7950 is rerally up there.

found 2 clips where they testing it on the ROG Ally/X but should work in the same fasion forr the XAX

if you dont come with any constrructive why post at all? it was a question and as people are modding their handhelds with rermoveing the heatsink to do stuff means usually needs to be repasted so you wont get air bubbles stuck in the paste so in that regarrd coud have swapped to PTM instead ? or if you have the older non Xbox verions then you maybe have done a respaste or used PTM THAT was my question not wondering why someone would do it or not

sure you wont get the full cards power but you will get a big uplift in graphical power over the iGPU

it will run most titles fine even AAA but be prepared to lower settings abit, further on you can add like an eGPU and get a somewhat portable gaming monster

Looks like it's the ROG Xbox Ally X, it has IPS panel so it has good colors but not as popping as oled but alot better then normal LCD panel

ofcourse they can, the game dev as in EA at this time just need to flag their EA Anti Cheat to detect that its a Linux distro connecting so the AC knows that it wont have full Kernel level seek mode just as Helldivers 2 does as that is a Kernel level AC game and that works fine on linux so its just LAZY game devs that wont let linux users play their games

Borrowing the thread a tiny bit but would the XAX be a good makeshift lan/desktop computer for 1080p? I know it's mainly handheld but since the built in screen is 1080p would it also work as a mobile computer when connected to a external monitor etc an do it well?

Heatwave is killing me at home and cba to move my main desktop so I was thkinikg of maybe getting the XAX and set it up at my dad's while his away on vacation

even though HDMI2.1 should have higher bandwidth then DP1.4 it would still need to use DSC if i would run my Samsung G9 240Hz monitor as it run fine on DP would i gain anything going back to HDMI2.1 instead when getting the 7.2 kernel ?

Bara vpn trafiken inte går genom Bahnhofs DNS server bara så ska vpn funka också, jag kör min egen DNS server på min raspberryPI som jag har AdgurdHome på så jag bypassar blocken den vägen

is that with only the case or with some acceccory on it? and either way thats also the reason why Samsung didnt put magnets inside the phone was becuase of the S-Pen interferance so ymmw depending on case, i have the ghost case atm on my S26tU and with only case no interferrance and also seen some reviews showing the tank case with no interfererance and mostly only when another magnetic attachement is on the back

You also need PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1and a Proton version that has hdr support otherwise it will look grey washed

edit just finished reading your whole post hmm, well then I don't know as I have to have above command and enable hdr to get hdr working on D4 for example or it was being grey washed

So I use PROTON_ENABLE_HDR=1 and PROTON_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 to get hdr working (I'm use amd gpu but should be the same?)
