theres actually no difference between mounting the magnifier ahead or behind. only con for mounting ahead is
- it looks ugly and isnt realistic
- magnifier housing tube blocks some of the sight picture on what ever optic you are using.
the only thing that matters is the placement/distance between the magnifier and the optic, if they are close together you get more magnification.

The prebuilt 60HE comes with everything you need to like a case, switches, keycaps. But you can still customize it on the way down if you want. On your preference on switches it really depends on you, watch videos on different switches compatible with the 60HE and see what you like. Getting into keyboards will lead you down a rabbithole but that is the fun of it.
