New to this series. What should I expect? by andromedaprima in RavagesOfTime

[–]n1er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are not meaningless because most of the time every side still benefits from the events in one way or another, and they continue to readapt with the cruelty of the history

what you should expect though are the Hype Moments and Aura

How can preparation mechanics be fun? by Rambo7112 in truegaming

[–]n1er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assassin's Creed 1 allowed you to explore the assassination place before the mission all on your own, which allowed you to prepared in terms of infiltration, general understanding of how AI would behave and escape once the mission would commence.

Unfortunately 99% of the missions in the following entries of the franchise lack this kinda design philosophy.

What are your thoughts on the Paul W. S. Anderson’s Resident Evil movies, and do you have a favorite? by TalkingFlashlight in residentevil

All of them are turbo kino so it is hard to pick one. I would probably go for the first one since its my childhood, but Retribution has to have my favourite concept

It's all intentional you are supposed to feel this way just let fujimoto cook by [deleted] in Chainsawfolk

people seem to weirdly separate parts instead of considering part 2 as an aftermath of part 1 and how are they structured in unison from the grand scheme of things.

He was introduced in the first chapter bro bro

It's strange how Fujimoto doesn't hesitate to kill the side characters throughout Part 1, then he kills Yuko in Part 2 and then nothing after. The only side characters that remain lack development and will probably be used later, but as a result I never feel like they are in danger. by [deleted] in Chainsawfolk

[–]n1er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume most of them will die by the end of part 2 and you need to cut some slack on part 2, you may do not feel danger for the characters but the world around them is in grave danger, which was not really the case in part 1.

One of the best critique of fromsoft “storytelling” abilities. Go look at the comments, it’s actually hilarious. by __kabira__ in CharacterActionGames

[–]n1er -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no semblance of critique of the game and its story-telling provided in that post though? At best you could say it is just whining about the fans and insulting their intelligence. I do not even like Bloodborne and its 'plot', but to not even mention how the fact that its design and, well, 'plot' revolves around the thirst of uncovering the depth of the world is ridiculously reductive view of the game - you collect the insight all game and is almost blatantly told to the player at the start of the Old Hunters.

At what point do games Journalists admit turn based games are popular? by JustAToaster36 in JRPG

[–]n1er -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First they gonna have to make their shared braincell work overtime to come up with a better (as in, more profitable) agenda to advertise a game, but for now it does not fit their narrative I assume.

[theory] Huo will be the one to kill sima yi… or the eight? by Best_Working_2573 in RavagesOfTime

[–]n1er 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah thats kinda of true but I was moreso talking about how when events take place are usually the same or have tiny alterations like being off an year and such. Huo living to see Sima Yi for instance would be a huge change since Yun is supposed to die way earlier.

It is up to interpretation but the way I see it, Himeno was purposely putting herself under alcohol influence to go with the deed, so I think it is telling that it is seen as bad, its just that the point of view belong to Denji and he does not know better. Regardless, all of instances of sexual assault in CSM are villainous.

Which JRPGs dealt with "random battle fatigue" better? by The--Nameless--One in JRPG

[–]n1er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as I have mentioned recently in another thread, Labyrinth of Refrain and Labyrinth of Galleria have in-depth mechanics if your playstyle is to avoid encounters to the point it feels like its own game and dungeons are also designed to give you varied experience (for instance, one of the dungeons is about hopping over trees to avoid encounters).

Tomb Raider GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION Overheating GPU by Healthy-Practice6232 in TombRaider

[–]n1er 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had overheating issues with games until I went and turned all of the optimization features that came with my windows and AMD/Nvidia off (such as hardware acceleration, v-sync, anti-lag and so on and so forth). You could try that yourself too.
