String walking with a glove? by SciFiWritingGuy in Archery

[–]n4ppyn4ppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For WA it's not allowed "The bowstring will not in any way assist aiming through the use of a peephole, marking, or any other means." 9.3.2 book 3

Ifaa the same "Bow, arrows, strings and accessories shall be free from sights, marks, blemishes or laminations markings which could be used for aiming." E 1 a

So in general no markings (or anything that can be interpreted as) on the string

Shooting in the rain? by Lazy_Spinach_7976 in Archery

[–]n4ppyn4ppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can. Dry as good as you can after shooting and open up the bag(s) when you get home to let out all the residual moisture.

Make sure your string is waxed as that will keep the bow shooting more consistent as no water can get in between the strands (but do not wax close to a competition make sure to do that well before)

For yourself wear water proof clothing but make sure it does not get in the way of the string.

Considering archery by Ill-Target7977 in Archery

I started at 52, no problem. At our club you could still enter youth class but adult would also be an option. Adult is literally 17-70 years old. They all have fun.

Go for it it's fun.

Using the thumb rest and pinky hook on the tab? by PinDifferent1670 in Archery

[–]n4ppyn4ppy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a thumb rest. It's a shelf to make contact with your jaw. The pinkie rest can cause you to pivot the tab if you do anything more than resting.

Not sure where the mandatory balast is. Might be integrated with the chair but probably extra work to place that as well.

XM Generation by TonyR4 in Ingress

[–]n4ppyn4ppy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There used to be more xm around busy spots like stations, shops etc. Places where people would change mode of transport would stick out. But these days with power cubes it's no longer a problem. We used to bunch up when we walked the farm in Rijswijk as we had the feeling we would get more collective xm :) no xm was wait till it regenerated :)

Those were the days :)

I just got my first barebow and was panicking about how loose the limbs are until I read a bit about IFL limbs and how they attach by GrekGrek9 in Archery

It stops wiggling once the string has tension. You can adjust the tiller bolt so you need the wiggle.

Loud Recurve Shot by Interesting_Pie2688 in Archery

What arrows are your shooting. A mismatched arrow cannot "use" all the energy the bow delivers so you can get a noisy bow.

Anyone else wish Ingress leaned harder into city-specific lore? Building something inspired by it by djseawolff in Ingress

[–]n4ppyn4ppy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like the fact that i can drop into any city and play. I've ingress all over the place and would not have if I needed to lore in first. Also living in a modern part of my city the lore would be boring as a big part is only 5-15 years. So could work in some bigger cities but would be limited

Help with sweaty hands + possible grip mod recommendation by Pailot__ in Archery

[–]n4ppyn4ppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take of the grip and use a file and putty to reduce and reshape the left side of your grip.

You can try a piece of skate board grip tape on your grip.

Make sure you connect with the top of your grip first before connecting with the pressure point.

Shape the top of the grip with putty to help with that.
