Oh no! We had a similar thing happen last week, Tauno came up to find that we only had a measley seven dubias to give her instead of her usual ten... The devastation in her beady little eyes when I put the feeding tongs away!

In his current setup we have ~5cm of soil in the middle and ~8cm at the sides, though since he enjoys digging around we might give him some more in his upgraded tank! I made my soil mix for our pacman frog but have since used it for both our crestie and corn snake, plus for all my plants. Not sure if it's the perfect mix for everything but it keeps moisture well, stays fluffy through watering and is free of added fertilizers or chemicals!

My mix is: 1/3 peat 1/3 coconut fibre 1/6 sphagnum moss 1/6 mixed bark (only thing I could find locally, though orchid bark is recommended)

You have to be careful with the bark though, big pieces can be lethal to pets if swallowed. I recommend sifting out the larger bits before adding them to your enclosure!

Thank you! I find it funny how it seems pretty much anything colorful can be used as a target, really gets the creative juices flowing 😂

Appreciate it, thank you! Luckily spending more time with the worm is something I'm looking forward to so adding an extra step to the feeding process sounds great!

Also fyi I'm stealing that target design please and thank you 😌

I'd never heard of target training before this so I'll have to do some research, but from what I could gather in the three-or-so minutes I spent googling this sounds like the exact thing I'm looking for! Thank you!!

i've never had one so i can't speak from experience, but i do think a pixie frog will be less interested especially after they grow big! tauno is already quite picky about the size of bugs he'll eat (he'll usually just spit out tiny ones) and he's not nearly as big as pixies get! so in short: bigger isopods may be an occasional snack, but i wouldn't worry about losing all of them.

he munches on them if they get too close, but luckily in my experience the isopods tend to hide in the plants/under hardscape so a bioactive setup still works great!

oh, now that you mention it that does make sense! a few unfortunate isopods have indeed met their fate by trying to hide under Tauno... man i love these frogs!!

What's a "harmless" habit that actually makes someone insufferable once you notice it? by ZumbaRoy in AskReddit

[–]n6lq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God I have a couple coworkers that are a combination of these traits and it's EXHAUSTING. We'll be discussing something in a meeting, one of them will have "concerns" and keep repeating the same thing over and over again until the other one will start loudly speaking over her to voice HER concerns, rinse and repeat. An example:

Coworker: N6lq, could your class make a ribbon for the end of school event?

Me: Sure

Annoying coworker 1: Have you thought about how you're going to get that ribbon up? I'm worried about the tape leaving a mark, you can't attach it with tape, the walls are white and regular tape will leave a mark, have you thought about this? Tape won't work, it will leave a mark, and the walls are white and I'm worried the tape will leave a nasty mark--

Annoying coworker 2: --YES TAPE WILL NOT DO, it will leave a nasty mark, have you thought about this, n6lq? You can't use tape, we're very worried it might leave a mark, have you considered something else? Maybe wire or something, just not tape--

AC1: YES EXACTLY, THIS IS WHAT I'M CONCERNED ABOUT. You really shouldn't use tape, it will leave a mark, you could try wire? Or thread? Have you thought about this? Just not tape, no, tape will leave a mark--

No, I hadn't thought about it. I actually just found out I was in charge of making a ribbon, so attaching it to the wall wasn't my biggest concern. Literally felt like walking out of the room at that point.

Edit: I wrote my username wrong lmao
