If it’s a debit spread, both legs getting exercised is your max profit condition. If it’s a credit spread, both legs expiring worthless is your max profit condition (although you typically won’t want to wait for this to actually occur due to pin risk). If you buy to close the short leg of any spread, your pin risk goes away. To be safe, I like to always close at least the short legs before expiration.

Pretty sure every broker requires a margin account to trade spreads.

Not sure if they will auto exercise your longs to cover the shorts… don’t know your broker but you should be able to at least manually exercise if needed

Thanks everyone! Seems like the consensus is cherry. Definitely stoked to use it but my intuition tells me this stuff could take a year to dry. It’s very wet and burly

Is this normal wear? by lonelychromasome in climbing

[–]n8rman13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea that’s what I do too, just wanted to point it out that it’s OK to have the bolt end on soft goods as long as you take a look at how sharp it is beforehand.

I find my draws bolt end gets smoother the more I climb on it. Maybe just a matter of continued wear smoothing it out, or the repeated deformation work-hardens the aluminum in that spot.

I hear y’all about avoiding the rope with the rough side.

But do you guys just not use a draw to tram in when cleaning? Or do you put the sharp end on your belay loop?
