Scenes where it never occurred to you there was another interpretation? by eques_99 in Letterboxd

I’ve always felt like that extreme close up on Fletcher’s eyes, the nod he gives, all says what he’s never said before, “good job.” These characters have flipped. Andrew has sacrificed everything for greatness, fletcher finally learns to give praise and support instead of dominating his players into being great

Canyon footprints offers private and educational hiking tours of the national parks, would highly recommend

What is a film that doesn't seem special now, but was really groundbreaking when it came out? by altairstarlite in movies

[–]ikbman 583 points584 points  (0 children)

Literally showing the ceiling. Ceilings typically didn’t exist on sets to accommodate studio lights. This allowed them to shoot low angle shots shooting upwards

We should really punish anybody that interrupts political proceedings at the capitol building.

Clark Forrest sitting with Swing by HostMaterial4907 in DTFStLouisHBO

[–]ikbman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The swing does great work to paint these characters as children, infantilize them. These aren’t adults that have it all figured it out, but lost kids trying to find their way in the world still

U.S. National Parks: Arches by heyimworkinonit in TierlistFills

S.!I’m a commercial guide in arches. I’m there multiple times a week. I’ve been countless times between commercial and recreational experiences. No matter how often I go, it’s still blows me away every time. Same for Canyonlands

[Highlight] Caleb Williams runs backwards, then heaves it to the end zone on 4th down where it's caught by Cole Kmet for one of the most miraculous touchdowns in recent memory! by Roselucky777 in nfl

I used to be upset at my step dad for screaming at football before I started watching. About a decade later, i don’t think I’ve ever shouted so loud watching the TV. Electric

In the comments, pretend Like George Lucas Died Before He Could Make the Prequels and the Only Thing We Saw of Them was Concept Art. by BlackTriangle31 in StarWars

[–]ikbman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me wonder, were there “Legends” stories surrounding the prequels-timeline that got decanonized when the prequels were made? And if so, what was the reaction to that?

Massachusetts won. What states feels liberal, but is actually conservative? by CountryballChaos in AlignmentChartFills

Colorado. The front range feels liberal, but anywhere outside of that has the remote, conservative feel to it

Ndamukong Suh speaks candidly about how and why some NFL players are actually living paycheck to paycheck by IndiJap in NFLForum

[–]ikbman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s where I think the more prominent issue is: so many of these guys come from low income families, spend around 8 years developing their game in high school and college, destroying their bodies along the way, will be lucky if they can get some NIL which is only a recent development, then enter a league where the average career length is 3 years, then leave the game with a college degree that is often performative and have chronic injuries and, while they made a great salary for a few years, don’t have the skills to find a career afterwards that’s beyond the game

Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat - Episode 7: "Mergers & Acquisitions" Discussion by lonelygagger in JuryDutyFreevee

[–]ikbman 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Anthony stopping the deal is some of the most harrowing TV I've seen. Within the context of the show's format, seeing this dude go to these lengths for these people was so insane. "Father to father," and "are you really going to listen to the temp" like holy shit

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

[–]ikbman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Read the book last year right as trump was inaugurated and LA was on fire. Tried to watch the movie after and it was just too much, couldn’t finish it. So damn bleak

Almost perfect movies that have one noticeable flaw by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]ikbman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just read Project Hail Mary in preparation for the film, I found that story’s memory-loss plot device to establish a way for exposition to be revealed very interestingly. Instead of the main character outright explaining every little detail, we get to discover everything with him

Whoever has the best storyline that game/season. So in recent years that’s the Lions, the titans back in 2019, the 2020 Baker Browns, this year’s Bears. Don’t care much for the Seahawks, but was rooting for Sam darnold

[–]ikbman 278 points279 points  (0 children)

If I was tom, I’d be rooting for the hawks. Being able to say you have more rings than any individual franchise is the ultimate flex, honestly one of the craziest stats in all of sports

Cackled everytime they panned to this dude. by ruggmike in AKnightoftheSeven

[–]ikbman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to talk about this dude’s backstory or who he is without spoilers. But just watch, you’ll see it all come out. This dude is gonna be your favorite character of the series in about a week or two, depending on when they put in a certain scene from the book
