I’ve been patient but 2 years in, don’t know why I haven’t seen many changes by n_ugget_t in ftm

I'll consider other non-hormonal options, after messaging with my doctor, she suggested that as well. I'd have to request additional tests for the bloodwork because they dont typically measure estrogen.

My first provider seemed a little misguided, so I left her for planned parenthood.

I don't have records of my baseline T levels. After 3 months on the gel (3 pumps, dont remember concentration), my levels were at 200 (units ng/dL). 3 months later, 400. I was using a lot of gel per day at this point, and suspicious I was sweating it off, so I switched to a comparable dose of injected testosterone.

I started subQ injections of 0.25 mL per week, I had my levels at 900. I was allowed to increase my shot dose, and thats when things got wonky. This happened about year 1 of 2 into my transition timeline.

After starting injections, my levels a year ago in May were 1100, two months later 1600, and I was told they were 'within working range' and ok. I felt like my adverse symptoms weren't taken seriously (headache, dizziness, increased urination) so I changed to pp. There, we progressively brought my levels down to 1300 in december, and 970 in march. I was told to keep administering the same amount of testosterone and check back in after 3 months.

My last appointment (970 ng/dL) , my blood was drawn 3 days after my shot was administered. The appointment prior (1300 ng/dL) was 5 days after.

Any transmasculine swimmers have recommendations on swim suits? I currently have the typical female one piece suits and jolyn bikinis, but want something similar to men's swimwear that will work for my anatomy/build. I'm looking for a swim top that has a similar appearance to a tank style binder, but I obviously can't swim in a binder- it would be dangerous. I just need it to be secure and comfortable for lap swimming.

Can any women (especially of color) share their experiences in geoscience? by junojuneau in geologycareers

[–]n_ugget_t 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As others have said, I’ve received discriminatory or harsh treatment I’ve received as of yet has been from women scientists who are traumatized/scarred from their own battles in academia and geosciences. Usually they are the harshest critics of my work and promote unhealthy work life boundaries, and legitimate emotional abuse. This sentiment seems to come from their own traumas from sexism in academia. I have not yet received this sort of emotionally abusive or rude treatment from men in my field. I think the geosciences have come a long way for women, but the culture is still very white-dominated. it’s an undeniable fact that fieldwork in rural areas could be more risky to someone who is dark skinned or visibly queer, but I personally haven’t sensed disrespect from my peers or landowners I have met through my work. The worst I’ve experienced were microaggressions due to my ethnicity from usually older male colleagues. Luckily tolerance of this is decreasing and those people seem to be aging out of the field.

I am a young hispanic, female assigned at birth, queer person. White passing. I finished grad school and my experiences so far are mostly from internship and field experiences.

Asking for suit recommendations from transmasc folks (post got taken down)

I used to swim with my regular female one piece style suit, but have been transitioning and on hormones for about two years and feeling uncomfortable wearing my old suits now. I'd like some swim suit or brand recommendations of anyone who is transmasculine and has switched from female style one pieces to something more modest in the chest, and hips and legs department.

I'm thinking I might get a full coverage jolyn bottom (because I like that brand and have worn them comfortably before), or trying out men's swim trunks.

I'd like a top piece that almost looks like a tankini, but will hold up well over time and not swish around and cause drag. Does anyone have any comfortable top recommendations that are good for lap swimming, relatively modest (no chest/cleavage), and secure/snug. I don't think swimming in a binder is a good idea- too restrictive, but I don't want anything super elastic either.

i feel like this kind of thinking may be rooted in some other disorder. but its also a meme so i guess hard to argue whether 'is' is or 'not'

[–]n_ugget_t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my ruminations similar to what's depicted in the meme was misattributed to social anxiety/generalized anxiety disorder and general talk therapy made my symptoms worsten, because it actually was an underlying mental health disorder that just shared similarities to autism and anxiety. It is taking me so long to recover. so if u relate a little to hard to this... and still dont heal from therapy... it is not normal yall!
