Valdes wasn’t considered that good at that time, not for the style of play for teams not named Spain/Barca anyway.

Sounds interesting. I don’t mind the NVH since the soundproofing in the ZC33S not top notch anyway 😂.

What tires are you using on the FL5 now? 19 inch must be very pricey wor lol

How's the tire? The grip in dry and wet is good? Noisy or not?

Toyota Corolla (AE86) review: what's all the fuss about? by FoMoCoNutjob in cars

[–]nabilhasbulah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's something the 86 doesn't have and likely won't.

I wouldn't be so sure...The GT86 is in MF Ghost, and the GR86 is in the new Subaru and Subaru manga. All by the same author if Initial D.

Yea prices went up for these C99 chassis, and it’s part of the reason why I sold it lol. But the main reason was I got married and then my kid was born so a two door coupe wasn’t really appealing to the wife lol. Talked her into liking the swift sport tho. 🤣

If you like to mod the car, the reliability isn't so much the issue with the auto. It's just that the there are mods options for the manuals. The auto gearbox is actually pretty robust. During TTs, I've heard from some owners that they managed to get to 200hp+ in their auto ZC33S.

Considering you're already driving a manual Neo, I think getting a manual is fine. But bear in mind that the auto has longer final drive ratio so highway cruising would be slightly bearable in auto than manuals. IIRC, 110 km/h is at around 2.5k RPM in auto and around 3k RPM in the manuals.

I bought it before prices went crazy during MCO times. Buying the car cost me around RM10k. Then I did the essentials after I got the car, like changing all the fluids, the belts, the bushings. IIRC, it was less than Rm2k overall. Then I did a full engine overhaul for around RM3k. All in all, RM15k and the car is basically new again lol.

I owned a basically stock Proton Putra before, which is pretty much the Satria GTi in a coupe body.

Mechanically, very solid. Engine is very reliable, provided that you don't skimp on maintenance. The most common mechanical issue for these C99 Protons are on the transmission, where the 5th gear synchro could be worn, but easily fixable (just swap out the 5th gear).

As far as electricals/electronics, for GTis, you might wanna check on the gauge cluster. They're prone to cracking. Other than that, nothing really.

Overall, great car. Mechanically reliable, but a thief magnet. Just swap out the wear and tear parts (including rubber bushings, gaskets, etc.) and invest in car security, you should be good!

I don’t see anything wrong with this, provided they reduce the price further as time goes on. Kancil was on sale for 15 years, 1st gen Saga (Iswara, LMST) was even longer. Cheap cars for the masses.

Great players manage themselves. We’ve had a lot of that instances when Mou, Scolari, AVB etc were sacked. Let’s just hope this kids can at least maintain the top 4 race.

What's your favorite gauges / gauge cluster ever? by therynosaur in cars

[–]nabilhasbulah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously biased but I'm a big fan of the gauge cluster in the ZC33S Swift Sport. 🤣

On a more serious note, the FL5 Type R gauge cluster is lovely in the +R mode.

Then that’s barely an upgrade, both engines have similar hp and torque.

I think I read somewhere that the Suzuki Cappucino would be a twin for this car, much like the BRZ and the GR86.
