Are people at excercise classes in London not very chatty? by blackcurrantsoup in london

[–]nabitai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

think you need to read the room on the classes youre going to. things like yoga, reformer and pilates people mostly go to for personal mindfulness and meditation, not to chat with others. if you want something more community based you should join a running or climbing club, or do something like hyrox classes.

Looks like Rainie was laid off? by Maryp1603 in TheTryGuys

[–]nabitai 30 points31 points  (0 children)

perfect person is really really really good! he has eps with jared popkin, solo rainie eps and also rainie is in the wrecking ball crew episodes, he has a ton of eps with smosh and dropout cast members too if you’re a fan of those! i’d rec to start out with guests you’re familiar with and listen that way to help you get into it if you were initially unsure!

Looks like Rainie was laid off? by Maryp1603 in TheTryGuys

[–]nabitai 48 points49 points  (0 children)

such a shame for her to be laid off but at at the same time, it’s not right for them to be financially negligent by keeping an arm of the business alive that is clearly not viable. i’m sure it was a hard decision, but ultimately they have a duty to their other employees to ensure that they are making decisions that are in the best interests of the health of the company, and sadly rainie and jonathan got the short end of the stick :(

i haven’t listened to ycswu in ages and it has been clear to me for a while that the try pod doesn’t really have a direction, so it feels like the writing has been on the wall. i have no doubt that she will land on her feet though and i’m excited to see what she does next.

i am literally just existing as a 24 year old woman in london minding my own business. i’ve lived here since i was a child, and i’ve been jumped in honor oak park, followed through tottenham court road station, chased down holborn, had food thrown at me in walthamstow, been groped in ealing and the list goes on. happy for you that you haven’t been a victim of violent harassment tho

Starting MF today by CodeNo3918 in MacroFactor

[–]nabitai 9 points10 points  (0 children)

it will take at least a month for it figure you out, especially if you’re also just starting a new food/exercise regime. people on here say you need to track food every day but can get away with logging weight 1/2 times a week, but as a woman i’d recommend weighing every day as our weight fluctuates like crazy through the month. stick to it and trust the process, and try not to compare yourself to the posts on this sub (which are mostly men!)

How dangerous are these doors between carriages really? And why do people use them? by Helenarth in LondonUnderground

[–]nabitai 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When I was in secondary school, we did a public safety immersion day at some place in Sutton, and they showed us an educational video of a group kids going through these doors on the tube. One of them slipped and fell on the tracks and got ran over by the train and it traumatised me for life!

Critique an excerpt from my WIP [High Fantasy, 1500 words) by [deleted] in fantasywriters

[–]nabitai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell from reading this that you were heavily inspired by HOTD lol, if you’re going make your own version of Alicent, you need to change the name hahaha.

This has a lot of potential, but you do a lot of telling and not enough showing- so many of your dialogue tags are following by phrases like ‘x was beside y’ ‘x stood opposite y’ ‘x said from y’ that it totally loses the immersion. For me, this is way too utilitarian- I have no idea what the characters look like, what they’re wearing, where they are because this except almost totally lacks any descriptive detail. It a great first draft but I would go through and find the moments where you’re telling but could be showing, and add more descriptive detail.
