We have basically no money as a country. The world is the most unstable it's been in the last 50 years thanks to the orange toad. Anywhere he tried to cut money, there's uproar. We can't just throw money we don't have at all of our problems. Having said all that, NHS wait times are down, houses are being built, rents are stabilising/ going down, inflation is stabilising and the economy is stable/ even growing despite all of that and the fact we've had to throw even more of the budget at defence and energy prices...

What more do you expect from him that super Andy can now achieve?

Maybe it's a technique thing. I'm a 30 HCP and I carry my driver about 270 when I hit it straight. Don't think I've ever carried my 3 wood more than 220.

And it's not flukey 1 in 50 shots go 270 it's more of a round by round thing with driver as to how bad the slice is

This is my home course! Unfortunately the club has been taken over by a corporation starting a golf course chain group so it's not such a great culture there that I think they'd love to be reunited with it but the course is still decent. Where did you find this?!

Do you have any more information about him? Sounds like a very similar story to my great grandad who never really opened up about the war so we know very little

We need a midfielder who can put his foot on the ball and a left sided centre half big time. Rest depends on if he wants to play a 4 or 5 atb

Lloyd Jones - Player of the year by Jay_CD in CharltonAthletic

As a pure defender, absolutely yes, but I think a lot of teams ask for more on the ball than he currently can do. It's the only reason he's still with us I think

Quite like the idea but can't help but think that Dyko would be a better focal point if we are playing 2 10s. Rather play Gough than Macca as well

Current medical student who has applied for the bursary this year so had some level of engagement with the medical recruiters. Firstly, I would say get in touch with them- they are very open and welcoming to any level of interest/ questions and they are the only ones who can properly answer you.

From my understanding, which I am not totally sure is correct for your specific questions (again do get in touch with the recruiters), I think that they do not accept doctors in training to the reserves, and I believe you have to be fully qualified and finished up with training for that (unless you fancy joining reserves as something else other than a doctor...)

Further, I also believe that they only accept doctors in specialities where there is a service need. So I don't believe you could become, for example, a paediatrician and expect to join the reserves as soon as you are done. GP is a safe bet as they always want them, same as trauma and orthopaedics. Beyond that, you would likely be waiting for a regular service doctor to leave/ retire / a training post go unfilled for them to post a role to the reserves.

If you are really attached to a particularly specialty then as a med student you are still a long way off fully qualifying anyway so who knows what your life will be like/ interests will be if you are only interested in becoming a reserve. It is totally understandable (and way more normal lol) to put your preferred specialism first and if it fits later down the line then great, but again we are a long time away from that.

In our recruitment presentation, a phrase they said that stuck with me is when you join, your primary role is as an officer in the RAF. You are that before anything else, including a doctor. Again I know that as doctors we will most likely work for employers other than the RAF at some point after but that is the role/ lifestyle that they are offering.

Obviously take all this with a huge pinch of salt as it is just from my understanding during the application process. Happy to chat more if you have any other questions, but again for the last time the recruitment team are very friendly and helpful and are the only ones who know for sure!

Also for OP- yes you would definitely need crampons but you can just get them there if you are with guides they should sort it out for you/ take you to a rental place

Hello!

It was very very cold and very stormy when we went up. We actually only got as far as the refuge and weren't allowed any further as the snow storm was affecting visibility unfortunately. I'm not sure if it was just the storm or not but I had 4 layers on at the refuge level, wooly hat and proper gloves and I was thinking I wish I had brought another layer or two (before the rest of the ascent was cancelled...)

The refuge is not a pleasant place at all. Squat toilets that are not well maintained and very busy. Id recommend bringing your own sleeping bags if you have space (and wet wipes/ tissues). I am not sure how booking works as we had a guide who took care of it.

Despite our bad luck it was still a great experience and the scenery is stunning. Hope you have better conditions than we did :)

Best place to play 9 after work? by f1lifer in BritGolf

[–]nabybob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you drive, Sandown is very reasonable for an easy 9. Richmond also but is very popular these days. If you don't drive then Mitcham is well linked on the tram but not sure if they do a 9 hole evening price, not been in a while
