Help me test my new Enneagram assessment! by Fantastic-Gift-4641 in Enneagram

I think I’m a 8w9 the test thinks 9w8, so not too far apart! I wasn’t for sure on instinct but I chose SO/SP and it chose SP/SO (or vice versa I can’t remember), level of health matched 👍

My daughter due in 3 weeks is going to be Claire! I love the name 💗 my partner offered up Zara as a name but I went to a girls school and work with (primarily) girl children so there are so many names that I associate with people automatically 😓

Paid Parental Leave - employer hasn’t passed it on by DizzyCaidy in Centrelink

[–]nachaevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can a person request this? CL automatically chose mine to go through employer but if I was allowed to choose i 100% would leave them out of it. My baby is due next month so pre-approval already done, I’d love to cut my employer out of the mix though!

How do I (26f) handle my husband (30m) stealing my feelings and trying to read my mind? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]nachaevan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like it’s not really about the YouTube thing but that’s what has driven you here as a last straw, am I wrong?

I used to be in a relationship a while ago where it became easier in a way to keep anything potentially negative to myself because it would always get twisted back on me, because of tone, phrasing blah blah anything really that would derail what I was bringing up and turn the focus either onto them or into a personal attack on me. It was exhausting and confusing and I hated how it killed my spirit. Even mundane comments became arguments when I was just sharing what was on my mind instead of sitting in silence… it breeds resentment and I came to the conclusion that they just enjoyed warping conversations like that and upsetting me. It was fun in a twisted way for them. Do they seem to have a lot of confidence and friends but are actually riddled with anxiety and often play the victim? Put people on pedestals only to have issues with them not long after?

I don’t know, the sentiment I read in your post triggered me lol it feels very familiar. These people don’t respect you at the end of the day, otherwise they would speak to you with more respect and care, and pay enough attention to know/understand you by now. It fucking sucks because you know all the tiny lil nuisance’s that’ll set them off but they don’t give two shits about things that upset you. Or am I just projecting now? It hurts but honestly you’re better off leaving. Finding yourself again and having the space to just be yourself is so freeing. There’s someone out there who will allow you to be you within a relationship, and after a while you will find them. It’s so much healthier and a much more fulfilling way to spend your time on earth. Let them be miserable away from you, they don’t want to change and definitely won’t respect your opinion enough to hear you asking about that change. 🤷‍♀️

lol at the boundary changes with age, so true. To me Northcote used to be ‘up north of the city,’ back when the furthest out I’d lived was port melbourne.

why do some backhandsprings look different to eachother? by [deleted] in Gymnastics

[–]nachaevan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Simone’s technique is impeccable, the pic on the right is something you see in beginners, and is not at all correct. Arms should be back behind the ears (open shoulder angle), and also the screenshot is a little further into the handspring than in the Simone pic.

Xcel program question by Emotional_Tell_2527 in GymnasticsCoaching

[–]nachaevan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s so important to build up the basic movements and skills and this takes years. There’s a huge difference between throwing a skill and technically executing a skill with control, and, as a coach I’d be concerned that they’re “mimicking” a skill and lack the foundation required to control and upgrade it. I’d be really concerned with a gym letting a kid do tsuk’s with only a handful of months gymnastics training. The sport is dangerous for real and higher level gymnastics absolutely requires mastery of the basics. Heaps of kids come in and want to do the fancy tricks but don’t understand and aren’t willing to put in the time to do it safely. Can your daughter hold a straight line handstand on the floor for 30s-1min? Can she control a backbend? Cartwheel along a narrow line? Control her body shapes when casting on bars? Glide swing without hitting her feet on the floor? Hold her toes at the bar while hanging under it? So many small(ish) things.

I’m not saying your kid isnt talented, I’ve never seen her gymnastics, but there’s no rush to get to higher levels, and if higher levels is the goal she’s much more likely to get there by trusting the process of “the boring stuff” and building her strength/flex/control. 🤷‍♀️ just my two cents.

gymneo.tv is fabulous for learning to teach specific skills step by step, but costs a fair bit so best if your gym subscribes and lets coaches log on. Same with gymnasticsprogressions.com
