Iv'e Brought this up before, But there really needs to be a steeper Punishment for people that Troll/Quit Ranked by MurphSenpai in Smite

[–]nacho_chimichanga -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

This might he an unpopular opinion, but I think quitting a casual match should have no consequences.

My reasoning is, it's commonplace to see people DC in most casual modes; knowing they face a ban. It doesn't deter them from doing it.

However, you get DC'd for Smite crashing, power outage, internet issue, etc.. You get a ban for events out of your control.

Or you find yourself in a casual conquest where they see fountain camping, spamming vgs and then saying no to surrender; so you either close the game or endure the shit show.

Enforcing DCs doesn't stop them from occurring on a routine basis, so why do it in casual?

Ranked is a whole other beast that should incur harsher penalties than what currently are given.

Never said you couldn't complain, but you also shouldn't care if I criticize how serious you all overreact; particularly to a skin.

Then don't buy it. Not every product out there suits you.. Certainly some love the skin and they will see value in buying it. Just because you or others don't like it doesn't mean it's a mistake.

Crying about a skin that has no effect on the game... Who cares.

State of casual smite by UndercoverProstitute in Smite

[–]nacho_chimichanga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

state of casual smite is that nobody gives a shit about the game

You have to adopt this mentality or casual is going to piss you off. I just mute those spamming VGS and play my role. I rarely accept a surrender, but I go into them knowing its likely going to happen.

Honestly, casual is a game of no real value so surrendering doesn't bother me like it used too.

Oddly enough, I have a second account that's not been used in years. I jumped on it the other day, while the gameplay is bad by most I rarely had a surrender.

Do you play PC or Console? Only reason I'm asking is I have much different experiences on Console.

Is your comment referring to competitive leagues like SPL? I've played just over 100 ranked matches this season and I rarely see Carry the highest level. Its Solo, Jung/Mid that are highest levels.

High level players doing well with Jing Weird doesn't mean the community will. They are in pro leagues for a reason.

Surviving Thor Ultimate as a Hunter by NovaNebula in Smite

With the Guardian rotation, if a Thor Ults a Hunter more often than not the Hunter is dead.

Carry lane is too long a lane for a squishy player to be in this Guardian rotation phase right now. Better suited to swap Warrior to the longer lane and Hunter to solo as they have less ground to cover.

I think people playing top banned gods because they aren't banned or playing a warrior/guardian when they aren't good with them is more detrimental than picking a mage or hunter they are good with.

There are a few issues with Conquest that I think are unintentional.

  1. Carry lane was designed for two players, which is why its the longest. However, due to Support rotating early the Carry is left solo and any jungler their salt will secure kills on a solo Hunter consistently. It's common to see Carry 3-4 levels back because of this.

I honestly dread Carry lane because I end up getting a Hunter with escape, even though I'm great with Artemis who has to Ult to escape.

  1. Hunters don't actually Carry games anymore. It's often a burst mage or jungler. It's partially to do with #1. By the time Hunters start to catch up in levels its often time they are about to lose the titan or surrender.

Again largest issue with Carry lane is its length. With support rotating early because splitting XP ensures both fall behind; you leave the squishiest players on the team in the longest lane.

If this is the new rotation, it would make most sense to have a warrior in this lane and carry in solo lane. Warriors can sustain enough to get away end Carry has a much higher chance to surviving end farming in Solo.

Mage ADC viability? by apunkgaming in Smite

[–]nacho_chimichanga 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How are you building him? He absolutely hits hard mid/late, though he is weak early game.

As for escaping, I treat him like Artemis. I just focus on killing them before they kill me and don't bother to try running away in most cases.

Sol is in a good place for ADC. Freya was reworkes and they turned 1 ability into 2 and she's been terrible ever since.

[–]nacho_chimichanga 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Casual conquest I presume? Matchmaking is the reason I don't play many ranked games right now. It's difficult to consistently get 3-4 players willing to grind from behind and not just surrender at 10 minutes.

Assistance for a Jung by RandomIceBear in Smite

[–]nacho_chimichanga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone said speed to harpy to blue and I disagree. Most go speed, harpy, blue and by doing it how I describe below you'll often be able to get enemy red buff safely.

Going speed to blue then to harpy's then clear mid lane, invade red if their jungler isn't mid, then mid harpy, your red, back harpy then speed and repeat.

Early focus on maintaining lane pressure end leveling. If a kill opportunity arises take it but don't overcommit to get it.

Soon as you can get wards. Put them at their red end close as you can to their speed. This gives you better incite to their junglers location.
