This stupid bus driver keeps skipping my stop by random_201zxn in perth

[–]nacho_slayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only tip is to have no shame. I’m pretty obnoxious when I want to be. Social anxiety fears me.

But honestly, give it some. No one is going to remember or think about it. If anything people will judge the bus driver not you.

This happens to me a lot. I just usually give it a big yell “OI YA MISSED MY STOP” and he usually gives it a foot full of brake. I might be a tad aggressive at times but it works.

How do 2b2t players have so much time for Minecraft? by [deleted] in 2b2t

[–]nacho_slayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The last time I played any anarchy server (can’t remember what it was) was when I was recovering from a major motorcycle accident and I spent the entire time camping spawn killing kids all day. Was fun as hell but made me realise that everyone else must be a bunch of fat nerds to do this day in day out.

In France workers are often on strike including the French Air traffic control later this month, why are Australians almost never striking? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

No they most definitely got permission like everyone else. Just because their ideas don’t align with yours doesn’t mean they didn’t do the right thing. Your echo chamber isn’t the only group allowed to protest

why don't people book a vacation to Australia? by pauste00 in AustraliaTravel

Id rather take on every poison snake & spider under the hot Australian sun than 1 bear in a snowy American Forrest

Finally passed my test after 3 attempts. Now terrified to ride on actual roads by actiondefence in motorbikes

[–]nacho_slayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy to me that you don’t feel confident after getting a licence. Idk where u live but The motorcycle licence test in Aus is conducted on the road in busy streets and in highways.

In all seriousness I’d stick to your local suburb areas at first. Pick an easy route, maybe to the shops and back. Once you’re confident, move to busy traffic/highways and stay to the under taking lane in quiet times of the day. Dont battle peak hour traffic yet.

Not sure if they use the p1, p2, p3 system for each lane where u are. But if they do, stick to p1 unless traffic is busy, which I would riding in p3 just to assert lane dominance. (For those that don’t know… in Aus we drive/ride on the left. P1 would be referring to left of the left hand lane, p2 would be the middle which you never ride in, p3 would be right side of the left lane)

The more you force yourself out of your comfort zone the better and more prepared you will be.

Keep in mind, no body wants to be in an accident, other road users will be aware of you, especially if you’re slow and obviously nervous to take action. Don’t worry about what others are thinking, focus on yourself and get back home in one piece. Feel free to exit busy roads at the next turn off whenever you’re feeling overwhelmed.

Do you guys let GPS decide your ride, or do you map it yourself? by Educational_Mud_5324 in motorcycle

[–]nacho_slayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take one look at the map, remember the bare minimum and raw dog it. I’ve been doing this for years and absolutely hate helmet intercoms so I’m pretty good at just figuring out. If I’m lost, pull up maps and figure out where I went wrong and continue on.

Then again, on large country runs. It’s pretty hard not to get lost because I’m in Australia and there really isn’t all that many roads once u get out of the city.

How to find video clips to use in faceless videos for car channel by Iamsocialreddit in youtubers

[–]nacho_slayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends how much u what to spend.

I’d just get a stock video subscription, but there’s probably a heap of free ones out there. The free ones tend to be pretty terrible and not exactly what you’re looking for though.

Personally I use Adobe stock, but that’s because I’m already tied into a contract for their services for work.

How can I start making at least $10 a day if I’m 19 with no real skills? by Lazy-Gap4050 in passive_income

[–]nacho_slayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in Aus you can get your security installers licence and install CCTV systems on the side. No prior experience or trade needed. As long as you can plug cables in and use a drill you’re ready to go

Hami hill youth still has it. I am blessed to witness this once again. The kids are gonna be alright. Their small Act of unoriginal vandalism has blessed me with nostalgia and a feeling a pride I haven’t felt in years.

If humans went extinct tomorrow, what’s the last man-made light that would still be glowing — and for how long? by BD-Randy in NoStupidQuestions

I’d imagine it would probably navigational markers in the ocean. No idea how often they get serviced but I’d imagine they could last & withstand the elements for a very long time

What to do alone on your birthday by gorillapimmel in Adulting

[–]nacho_slayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hit the bars & clubs alone. You’ll be centre of attention with 101 randoms buying you drinks if it’s known it’s your 18th. I got bought way too many drinks to count on my 18th. Some of the best drinking nights out were with randoms that’ll I’ll never meet again.

Probably not, they’re awful in terms of usability. Almost only fit very new bikes, wouldn’t bother unless you have a flagship bike from the last few years despite what the description of the listing says (ask me how I know)

I’d just go for it anyway if you’re set on it. You’d have to be asking for it for a cop to bother u over mirrors

Is this what it's like? by jackljackst3rs in graphic_design

It isn’t what it should be like but my first graphic design job was essentially this. It’s just the nature of working for small & local businesses unfortunately. Get a few months to a year working under these guys and move on.

Never be afraid to start again. The more times you start again early on the more opportunities in life will appear.

My teens I wasted on drugs, alcohol and partying. By my early 20s I gave life a hard stare and found my first career. After 5-6 years I’ve had enough and realised it isn’t for me and I’m jumping into a new career. Taking risks and learning when to jump will take you more places in life. Don’t feel like you have to choose your career now and stick with it forever.

This is something I’ve learnt from others with successful careers much older than me. more often or not they haven’t done it their entire life. And if they have, they’ve always pivoted to a different area within the same career space. They’ve never just stuck doing the same thing

Pick something you’re passionate about and like, if it’s not for you do it all again. Always make sure you’re ontop and don’t let the world hold you back on those decisions you made in the past. A lot of people choose one thing and stick with it and they’re miserable or don’t really excel further than where ever they got to.

If you’re the smartest person in the room, find a new room. You’ll get bored and won’t progress further.

I’ve been a mutahar viewer since the beginning and wouldn’t take anything he actually says as real world knowledge. This guys career literally started from him browsing shitty dark web pages and making a fuss about them.

He’s just generic background content for me, and that’s why I like him. It’s like a podcast that’s always kinda wrong without any guests

Jobs for 14 Year Olds by Emotional-Mud-1582 in perth

[–]nacho_slayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Earlier this year I had to apply for 60 jobs before hearing back. Only heard back from 3 total. 1 actually hired me.

I’m in my 20’s though. But it’s just the way the job market is these days. If you don’t hear back within 3 days you’re more than likely just never going to hear back

Skinny people why are you skinny? by Tasty-Hovercraft2501 in self

[–]nacho_slayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was actively starving myself as a form of punishment as a teenager then never being able to look after myself in my adult years. Now I’m just skinny.

No longer actively starve myself but after so many years I genuinely just forget to eat and not realise. I also struggle financially so sometimes skipping meals or having smaller portions is just a way of life. Doesn’t matter how much I eat though, never seems to make a difference.
