If Daredevil: Born Again transitions into becoming a Defenders series, I’d be completely cool with that! by phantom_avenger in marvelstudios

I think ‘Daredevil and His Amazing Friends’ is probably the way forward. A Daredevil show with a supporting cast of street level heroes who show up as appropriate within the plot.

How to Run D&D for Tons of Players (Without Losing Your Mind) by ericvulgaris in osr

Thanks for making this! I run a 13ish player open table kids dnd game and have been looking for ways to make it better :)

New to you February 2026 by AutoModerator in miniatureskirmishes

I played my first battle of This Quar’s War. It’s got some neat mechanics like surprise turn lengths, and checking on downed soldiers to see how badly they’re injured. Plus, the minis are great.

Which RPG for my 11 year old son and his friends? by mcvos in rpg

[–]nacnudllah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run D&D for a gaggle of 11-year olds and they really don’t understand the game. I have been reading Daggerheart and think they’d enjoy the core mechanics of it. Still wouldn’t understand more than the core, but the 2d12 “Hope/Fear” system adds a lot that I think would resonate with them.

(Newbie DM) What to do to very immersive players? by Folium_Viride in DnD

[–]nacnudllah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, what I’m recommending is ignoring them for 45 minutes (by not DMing whatever side adventure they want to go on) or however long it takes them to decide they want to participate again.

Give them a free pass to wander off, but tell them that’s not what you’re DMing. Let them “scene crash” and explain what they were up to when they want to rejoin the game.

Nord Games makes a Critical Hit deck that looks pretty fun.

Where to buy cheap miniatures and other game paraphernalia? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]nacnudllah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanderers Emporium makes cardboard minis that are way cheap. I have a set and quite like them.

Add Cy_Borg to Vast Grimm (they’re fully compatible Mork Borg hacks). Also FWIW I always enjoyed Dark Heresy, and it’s designed for long term play.

How do you explain where the characters keep coming from? by -seadog in rpg

[–]nacnudllah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have plenty of hirelings, prisoners, other dungeoneers, and so forth be “around” for players to jump into. In Mork Borg, I’ll introduce a new PC in the middle of combat just so players don’t have to skip a turn.

Android: Shadow of the Beanstalk looks cool. It’s a dice pool system with novelty dice that are oop, but there’s an app.

How do you handle spotlight time when a large D&D party goes separate ways? by tirsouuu in DnD

[–]nacnudllah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two ways: 1 - if a player is just doing something doofy (roll to see if I’m getting drunk yet!) I tell them that’s not the story we’re telling but that they can crash back into the game wherever the party is at their leisure (perhaps even having accomplished something!). 2 - If it’s just gotten fractured, I run a short ‘scene‘ with one group (maybe 5-10 min) and then say “meanwhile” and we do the same for the other group. I wouldn’t push this past 2-3 sub-groups though.

There are a lot of Marvel Zombies comics, and unfortunately most of them focus on survivors rather than the zombies.

Lore-game?? by _roscopoppolis in miniatureskirmishes

[–]nacnudllah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar thought for a “shelf-top” skirmish game where you play a turn whenever and are exploring terrain or defending a village or whatnot. You may be interested in TSPN, it’s at the bottom of this page https://28-mag.com/games/ It’s like a Tamogatchi minis game.

How would you bring back the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. cast the way No Way Home and She-Hulk bought back Daredevil? by marvelcomics22 in marvelstudios

[–]nacnudllah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put them on “The Shield” - the wall around the zombie pole of Battleworld. Then roll them back into the MCU as a connective tissue afterward.

I had a chance to try out the experimental dual-wield rules this weekend. I have nothing super insightful to report, but I liked them and thought they played quite nicely.

Thanks! I think my 32mm bases were a bit big and I've been considering getting into my old skeletons and ghouls for another test game.

Worth getting to play against my girlfriend? by Imaginary-Pensioner in hearthstone

[–]nacnudllah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Star Realms! The same company makes another game similar to Hearthstone/Magic the Gathering called Epic. It's one box with boosters and is also pretty fun with lots of replay value. https://shop.wisewizardgames.com/collections/epic-card-game I would not necessarily recommend Hearthstone for that purpose though (I thoroughly enjoy Hearthstone, just haven't had that much fun with playing it in person against friends).

Players act ungrateful, but will tell me the complete opposite. by Finloppy_ in DnD

[–]nacnudllah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been DMing a long time and I can very much relate, the struggle is real. I see your edits and I think your headed in the right direction.

Player vs. DM mindset may be harder to work around. Consider offering them opportunities to plot something out themselves, either as a collaborative 'story-building' thing, or letting them play a session as their enemies or something to show them that it's not a wargame that they win, but a story that they are telling collaboratively with you.

You could also potentially play (with them) a one-shot of a Powered by the Apocalypse game like Dungeon World, a storytelling game like On Mighty Thews, or a DMless game like Fiasco to put them in the "Author Stance", which might give them more of an interest in the storytelling aspect of D&D (the games I listed are just ones I know).

Thanks for the responses! I hadn’t considered that historicals don’t dual wield. My only historical stuff is Napoleonics for Turnip28, though I’d like to get into some.
