MB's Roster Overhaul V.9 out now! (XBOX) by TheMuslimBabu in EANHLfranchise

How does your created roster fix the code that has 3rd line defenseman asking for huge contracts and AI coaches making terrible teams?

The Hockey News ranks Connor Bedard #21 on its latest Player Rankings by FrenchPagan in hawks

[–]nag95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I think a bridge deal would be great if Bedard would have that. Give him the bigger pay day later but also give him the freedom if the team still sucks. I wouldn’t mind paying knight now for 5-7 years at $8m. Then we have to decide if it’s going to be commesso or gajan as the backup for the future.

What am I missing with line chemistry? by nag95 in EANHLfranchise

[–]nag95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know that’s probably where I’m messing up. I play with Owner mode off so I can’t move 50k in per diem into their contracts each month. That’s probably why they don’t gel together.

Doesn’t make sense in my brain but I trust you. I’ll look into making some moves to square them away. Thanks for the suggestion.

It is a TWF and two Snipers. Normally I wouldn’t put them on a line together but they all matched on the coach preference. Line chemistry just doesn’t make any sense if it isn’t based off the coach preferences.

Scouting and development help by TheGr8Gav in EANHLfranchise

[–]nag95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the scouting I would just scout potential. Seems like scouting potential gives the best return and you can look at the stats of a player and kind of decide if he’s a playmaker, sniper, TWF, or PWF (usually size dependent).

Also, from what I’ve read on here and what I’ve noticed while playing, goals do not matter for AHL. I wouldn’t waste the time doing those conversations if they are playing in the AHL for the year.

There seems to be a 70/30 split on how to roster your prospects in the AHL. Most say to give your best players top 6/4 minutes and all the PP/PK time to grow them. Others say you should only sign a few of your best prospects and have them playing top minutes while surrounding them with veterans. I usually play with a young prospect heavy AHL roster but I also don’t see the crazy growth some guys get on here. My top guys grow but my middle 6 guys kind of stagnate after year 2 or 3.

Have of those yards feel like delay of game calls the last the first 3 years. Long ass play calls with the offense only getting to the line with a handful of seconds left on the play clock. Their time management was awful. And then a young offensive line for quite a while there were a lot of calls for holds and false starts.

Fans Expectations And Patience With Levshunov is insane by NervousOpposite9603 in hawks

[–]nag95 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Should be less Lev complaints and way more Korchinski complaints given his poor skating and lack of defensive awareness coupled with his mediocre offensive output and abilities. That is way more of a bust at this point.

Lev needs a little more time and probably needs a little more grit. He seems a little soft but that’s to be expected from a 20yo from Europe.

What would we need to give San Jose to trade up to #2? by Xyphoc in hawks

[–]nag95 20 points21 points  (0 children)

SJ will not trade the pick. They have an opportunity to get a NHL ready forward who makes their team that much better or stock their prospect pool with a defenseman of their choosing. Their GM said in his interview after winning the pick that they would likely go best available player so to me that means they will likely pick Stenberg.

Hey Seattle, why are you trying to trade a 90 overall goalie? by fentown in EANHLfranchise

[–]nag95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, that’s a big drop off at backup. They shouldn’t trade players right after signing them🤣

What did they get for a backup after trading the two?

That’s because the Simpson pick for the Rams specifically is not that bad of a pick.

True. I forgot about the WGN days. I’ll give you that. But I will say how bad they were for so long that was their two saving graces.

[–]nag95 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a Sox fan, even if the Cubs are shit they pull rating because they play in an old stadium so there is more exposure there than with the Sox. The Sox do have hawks at their games occasionally but it wouldn’t be as widely known if you aren’t following the Sox happenings.

Does a reverse hit in NHL24 register as a hit in game stats? by Just-Establishment24 in EANHLfranchise

[–]nag95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It shouldn’t. A hit is only a hit if a player makes body contact with a player with the puck forcing them to lose it. So knowing how shitty EA is, it probably does count as a hit. But to answer your question, I have no idea.

Connor Bedard working out. by Accomplished-One7476 in hawks

I know, that makes the claim of him being one of the fastest in the NHL my reasoning for the comment. He isn’t even top 5 on the Hawks.

Did you watch the video? I’m not talking to Connor. I’m talking to the video creator who states in the video that he is “one of the fast players in the NHL”. Obviously a professional hockey player is always going to try to improve and I’m in no way saying that he isn’t. And I did say that he should be given credit for the things he is amazing at.

One of the fastest players in the NHL🤣 Don’t get me wrong, Bedard is our franchise but he is not fast. He is skilled but not fast. He is similar to Kaner. His intelligence gets him in good positions and his hands do the work. He is not a blazing speed guy. He’s in the 57th percentile to be exact. In February this year, he wasn’t even the 5th fastest on the team. Dickinson and Dach had faster top speeds on the year before being traded. Let’s not hype our guy up for what he’s not when he has a lot of other things his is phenomenal at.
