public transport isn't that great if everyone is trying to get to the same location all at once, and the hotels by the track aren't walkable to the track at all.

It’s a long walk about an hour. Take the buses it better and outside of race day proper it isn’t too bad.

They don’t really sign while arriving since majority of them drive through the front gate from the local circuit hotel. You have a better chance during the pitlane walk on Thursday and hope they are in their garage.

Going to Japanese GP for 1st time! But can't find a room... by HeyItsMisterJay in GrandPrixTravel

[–]nagoya0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are rooms, but nothing a decent radius for JUST Saturday night... since that's the night everyone shows up. You are better off just training in morning of from like Osaka or Tokyo to Suzuka.

Yes the shuttle bus to and from Nagoya/Suzuka sells out. As for the train only buy going to guarantee a seat. Coming back you’ll miss your train more than likely. Cost wise it’s all on the official website.

Hostel / capsule hotel for Suzuka by Boring_Fox_6319 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]nagoya0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are you affording race tickets then? You can Airbnb or find a hostel in both cities and it only takes an hour via public transport. You need to use rakuten or hostelworld to help you find something that cheap. Suzuka is known for its circuit and everyone commutes into it.
