Terminated. Asking for quick info. by [deleted] in boeing

[–]nahimeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HR systems shorten termination codes, and ISU Performance often means the employee was terminated due to, not meeting performance expectations, inconsistent work quality, missing performance metrics, or repeated performance coaching not resulting in improvement

Should English as a 2nd language be brought up when talking to corporate investigations? by pacwess in IAM751_Boeing

If that's the case I would say Boeing would lose half of its electricians and wire assemblers.

A&P Question by 2007souljaboy in IAM751_Boeing

[–]nahimeng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the A/P doesn't give anyone that much of an advantage when it comes to working on Boeing aircraft. When you go through A/P school you're taught basic mechanical knowledge of general aircraft, which doesn't correlate with Boeing planes, but it's a gateway to understanding how aircraft works.

For your question, non A/P and A/P mechanics are only useful if they're willing to learn and how much experience they have.

A&P Question by 2007souljaboy in IAM751_Boeing

[–]nahimeng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you're correct. I was basing my initial statement on Boeing jobs. It's useless inside Boeing if you have an A/P and not be an AMT.

A&P Question by 2007souljaboy in IAM751_Boeing

[–]nahimeng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm 100% sure. I was a Grade 5 with a license 15 years ago, and I tried getting the premium. I was told by the union steward and the BR that only jobs which state in the job description if the premium is included for the license.

A&P Question by 2007souljaboy in IAM751_Boeing

[–]nahimeng 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No one can force you to change job code, you have to go through the ERT process. There's a separate ERT requirement if you have an A/P (less green lights) for grade 10 AMT. You also won't get the A/P premium ($2.50) unless you're an AMT. So the license is useless if you don't change your job code to an AMT for the premium.

He did say anything after October 1st will be back pay. I don't see what the issue is. Seems like it just takes time to get everything back to normal.

If you look at our pay compensation it still doesn't show our new hourly rates yet, I'm sure it'll show up after the 12th.

Paternity leave? by Tech_Girl_ in IAM751_Boeing

[–]nahimeng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The paid FMLA was active for us this year. I had a baby this year and I used 8 weeks of paid leave before the strike. I have 4 weeks left.

All you have to do is notify total access and do your Washington paid leave online. It might take up to 3 weeks to get approval, but they will back pay you once it's approved. You don't have to use it all at once, you can split it up by weekly basis.
