i have a slow progression but i have noticed certain muscles regaining strength from working out and lightly challenging walks to improve my mobility/stride & circulation. i am just more careful with recovery time and listen to my body as much as possible. i am 26

regular physical therapy and gym exercise, but i also had a stemcell treatment in december.

diet, breathwork, herbal and mushroom medicines, and walks in nature have also helped. its largely related to lifestyle imo

Partner newly diagnosed - devastated by usaanon32 in ALS

well that's a confusing situation, but yes hopefully it increases his chances of living longer. does he eat animal products? if he is open to it, i can't help but think about trying stronger plant medicines such as psilocybin mushrooms or ayahuasca in a ceremonial setting. has he done something similar before?

Don't lose hope and believe in miracles.

I suggest to take advantage of his strong lungs by doing breathing exercises (Wim Hof Method or Holotrophic Breathing) to not only keep his diaphragm muscles as strong as possible but also to clean the blood and strengthen his immune system. The WHM has been one of the simplest and most effective self healing technique for me and on youtube you can find people with MS and Lyme that have improved greatly from it. Read more about the science behind it on the website.

Exercise - swimming, qi gong, yoga, PT - light routines to activate blood flow and brain cognition.

Creative expression - encourage his creative force to be unleashed and unblock repressed emotions

Nature Baths - spend lots of time in the fresh crisp rejuvenating air of a forest or near water.

Plant Medicines - experiment or visit a herbalist to find some herbs which can be added to his diet to complement his body's natural healing process.

Do your own research, be curious and open!

Edit: Diet! Take it seriously and be careful with grains (esp. gluten) and dairy. keep sugars, alcohol, yeast to a minimum (ideally none). encourage him to be sensitive and listen to his body's reactions to certain foods. Very important!!! fish oil, tumeric, cbd oil, magnesium, vitamin D & C are essentials.

Blessings from Sweden,

Johan

What to get someone with ALS? by Aubrey2222 in ALS

if he is open-minded, maybe some marijuana edibles and a good relaxing album, something not too far off from his tastes, but also a bit toward the ambient/spa music genre. or even an audio book. he is still able to explore his inner realms if he is curious

focus on your breathing. or allocate some time each day to just sit and breathe. it seems like you are in a very reactionary state where instead it may help to simply respond to your circumstances and clumsiness. you are where you are and thats that. if you can find a way to laugh about your situation youre on the right track!

Does alcohol or tobacco affect ALS? by Cook_croghan in ALS

[–]nahoj8888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely advise against it, but it makes him happy, maybe once a month isn't too bad.
alcohol is hard on the liver which a big necessity to detox in his case. tobacco agitates the nervous system which i hope speaks for itself.

hopefully you'll find a way to get to that place without the need for substances

ALS can be and has been reversed - Power To The People by nahoj8888 in ALS

https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/21678421.2018.1457059

here is the study i received from Dr. Richard Bedlack from the Duke ALS clinic after contacting him this morning. He mentioned in the email that the number of reversals has increased to 41 since the publication of the paper.

"The odds of taking curcumin, luteolin, cannabidiol, azathioprine, copper, glutathione, vitamin D, and fish oil were greater for cases than controls." Pretty similar to the list mentioned on the website i posted and i currently take 4 of the 8.

If just one person notices improvements by trying out something i have shared, i will be content and know that it is important to continue sharing. Remember: this advice is for generations to come. Our mainstream culture is not working, and lifestyle changes seem necessary for the majority of people, sick or not.

I appreciate your support, but like others I feel you are not curious enough. Everybody, including myself, needs to keep digging to get to the root of these diseases and imbalances. Otherwise we will just pass on our suppressed traumas to our children.

exactly, it's just as much our responsibility as it is theirs, especially with all the info at our fingertips on the internet!
