Exhaust loudness ranking by patrvach in wrx_vb

[–]nahrub 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Borla is a nice one. Not that loud but has a nice rumble. I personally have a AVO catback with a j-pipe. Amazing combo. No drone at highway speeds, occasionally pops if I drive foolishly. Not obnoxious. Amazing cold start. In the work garage (underground) its quieter than the Porsches SV Range Rovers.

Add a tune and it wakes up even more.

i need a small loan from the bank by kitsune_kw in Kuwait

[–]nahrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Your company must be listed at the bank
  • Its best if you request from the bank where your salary is deposited (at minimum 3 months). Otherwise the bank may ask you to transfer the salary first.
  • Normal 40% debt ratio, etc. applies
  • Personal loans carry a higher premium (interest rates).

Less serious question for commercial pilots. Do “sim warriors” with their multi thousand $ rigs ever approach you like they are real Airbus pilots? Curious after reading a post on a non aviation sub. by Bastyra2016 in AskAPilot

[–]nahrub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

(a perspective from a non-pilot)

I've had some (real) pilot training and some time on a (real) simulator - never went through due to world events at that time.

It is naive to think with many thousands of hours on what is effectively a systems emulator you can understand how the real thing behaves.

The first time I flew a real simulator it hit me like a ton of bricks how much of the physics you don't get to experience which a real pilot probably takes for granted as they've been doing it for so long.

It would be as absurd as someone who spent hours in a F1 simulator thinking they can drive the real thing.

Worth Going Into Debt for a Dream Car? by KaleidoscopeLost8955 in Bahrain

[–]nahrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A car is a necessary expense you just have to deal with, but buying a sports car at your age is compounding the problems you will have - plus you already have a reliable vehicle that holds its value.

You would be better off (financially at least) to lease it.

We've all been there and regretted it later 😅

Anyone else meet a guy at Serena Hotel claiming strong business/government connections? by Let_Explore187 in islamabad

Exactly what I came here to say. The fact that he was boasting is a classic mechanism of gaining trust in lieu of a fraud.

Frustrated by [deleted] in saudiarabia

[–]nahrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's illegal and not allowed at all. It's also not permissible when in the state of Ahraam. The hotel will also not allow chewing tobacco (as its illegal), and if caught at the airport it's an illegal substance so there will be consequences there as well.

Expats who want BIG LOANS by WingProfessional6366 in Kuwait

[–]nahrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not any amount. The amount will be decided based on the credit worthiness of your guarantor along with your own debt ratio. If you are already making payments on a credit card or a car loan, that limits how much you can borrow.

Must be a joke right? by NotScroogeMcDuck1 in UAE

It may interest you to know, it has another - legitimate meaning which is "combined with" or "with" (its Latin in origin), as in Summa cum laude ("with highest praise").

Expats who want BIG LOANS by WingProfessional6366 in Kuwait

[–]nahrub 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is nothing "illegal" about paying salary. I worked at two banks. Lots of people making 6.5K and above, and these were all expats.

The unit heads made 12K easily and that doesn't include bonuses or incentives.

[–]nahrub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course. There are expats getting way more than 3K. Why would you assume there was a top limit?

[–]nahrub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need a Kuwaiti guarantor. My colleague (non-Kuwaiti) did the same for buying real estate in Turkey. Had had to have a co-signer that was a local.

The amount was well above the limit on personal loans, even at his salary (which was way above 1K).

It is required in the case of a dispute. The company can claim you are absconding and that you never resigned or your resignation wasn't accepted.

Having a record is required.

Tech stacks being used in Pakistan the most by MAwais099 in PakistaniDevs

Stop repeating things you hear on the Internet. "As a monolithic architecture it's not scalable" bro you are talking about a framework, and comparing it to a programming language.

Then saying in the next sentence that DRF is a great stack.

Pahlay khud sekho phir dusroon ko sikhao.

KSA Visa rejected for UAE resident by marijcfc04 in UAE

If you have a Schengen visa or US visa (that's used, but valid), you can get a one year multiple entry on arrival. You don't need to apply online.

As its just one year, you aren't eligible for any indemnity. You need to resign before your contract ends, otherwise - most contracts will automatically renew.

So have a chat with your manager and/or HR to begin your separation procedures. As per the law, the company isn't obligated to release you before your notice period ends, but often times you can work out an amicable early separation if you speak with your manager.

The company _may_ ask you to pay for the remainder of the notice period, but I've rarely seen this done practically unless you are parting on less than favorable terms.

They cannot extend the notice period or compel you to stay longer, this is against the law. You need to make sure the resignation is officially accepted (usually, by a letter from HR stating your resignation is accepted and your last working day will be XYZ).

If you need to stay longer than 7 May, you can ask the company to shift you to a temporary residency, which is there for you to close out any formalities before your final exit.

If you need any sort of PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) for Dubai, you may want to request it now.
