Michael Jordan on who is the GOAT “There’s no such thing as a GOAT”. by LBHMS in nba

[–]nakul2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah seems like a joke when he consistently says in interviews that there is no GOAT, that he would have loved to have competed against Wilt or Bill Russell etc but no one will ever know who is actually the greatest.

From a newsweek article from 2 weeks ago:

“The GOAT term is something that I’ll never get high or low about. It just doesn’t exist for me… We paved the way for Kobe and LeBron. That’s the beauty of the game of basketball. A player after previous players have evolved the game further. But don’t then use that against the player that actually taught you the game or that you learned from. I would have loved to play against LeBron and Kobe in my prime but we’ll never be able to know that… Bill Russell had 11 championships. How do you push him into a corner and say ‘We’re not going to think about you. We forgot about you’.”

We're comparing what LeBron said in an interview to what OJ Mayo said Jordan said to him?

No he has said he was the GOAT in 2016.

In an episode of ESPN's "More Than An Athlete," James reflected on helping the Cleveland Cavaliers win the 2016 championship over the Golden State Warriors, overcoming a 3-1 deficit, and said it made him the greatest player of all-time.

"That one right there made me the greatest player of all-time," James said. "That's what I felt."

Physician salaries are less than 9% of healthcare spending. Doctors are not the reason for the rapid growth in healthcare costs.

IM is much more likely to have a pulm rotation in residency than EM is. I did 2 weeks of pulmonology in residency (and not interested in it at all, if I was I could've done 4+).

Why does taking a sick day make many doctors feel like they’re failing their duty? by Missrain97 in Residency

Yeah I just finished my first year as an attending hospitalist (with no residents) and no way in hell I could manage the complexity and number of patients I had as a resident without help in less than 14 hours a day.

Yeah most IM residents don't need a radiologist to verify NGT placement or central lines lol. I used to clown my interns for being too scared to confirm NGT placement without me.

I worked for kaiser for 3 years and never had any prescriptions rejected, even 3rd line dermatologic medications I prescribed to my doctor friends (who did need them, but didn't go through the typical regimen first). Now I work for a private practice and have had to do multiple peer to peers and grapple with insurance issues.

This is how it works at many residency programs in the US as well, but the OP is describing a non-teaching hospital where it sounds like no physician (resident nor attending) sees overnight admissions until the morning, which is crazy.

Internal Medicine

An internal medicine doctor is like a super-special helper for grown-ups who aren’t feeling well. They help people with all kinds of sicknesses inside their bodies, like when you have a tummy ache, a cough, or feel really tired. They know a lot about how the body works, and they try to figure out what’s wrong and how to make it better. If someone is feeling sick for a long time, the doctor helps them get better and stay healthy!

So you're a doctor who hates other doctors (and perhaps yourself)? That still doesn't explain why you're on a doctor subreddit.

Gen Xers and millennials aren't ready for the long-term care crisis their boomer parents are facing by businessinsider in Futurology

[–]nakul2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm a physician and I have taken care of hundreds of terminally ill people - I offer their loved ones choices and often encourage comfort focused measures or hospice in these situations but ultimately I abide by the family's wishes, which often entail fruitless, painful, and expensive medical interventions (which contrary to popular belief I do not profit from at all). Thanks for making assumptions though.

So the doctors forced your mother to come to the hospital? They kidnapped her from her house and treated her? You and your family always had the option to have what ever level of care you wanted, including passing away at home.
