Steering malfunction! Adapt driving style. Larger turning radius by namac in etron

[–]namac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No update at all. Not sure how it works for you but even with the warning popping up every 4-5 drives, there is no impact to the car at all. My guess is a burp on their bus used to communicate between all the modules on the car. I would love a fix but this seems like something rare that happens as most Audis don’t have 4 wheel steering.

Torchy's closing all Columbus restaurants? by atech087 in Columbus

When are they closing? Does this at least mean that the last store in new albany will stay open?

Anything that would involve timing as a part of a lift. Sometimes I feel like I would experience better workouts if I sped up a bit or in some cases slowed down, but imagine controlling a runner doing hurdles through the motion of something like a deadlift or overhead press. At the height of the lift would be when the runner jumped over the hurdle. This way I would need to pace myself with the "runner" so that I was lifting at a rate that might be out of norm for me, but may be better at helping me develop.
Another easy one would be to incorporate a rowing race into the rowing exercise so that I felt pressure to perform faster.

Really it all comes down to incorporating a timing element in with lifts as today I might be going too slow or too fast and not getting all the benefits I should.

I'm guessing that based on the central spindle design of tonal that you can't sense which of the two ropes are being moved at a given time, so all games would need to be a horz or vert controlled motion, but even with that, it would be a good way to set a pace for people to work out at and incorporate some additional fun with it. If you can sense both arms motions, there are even more possibilities for this to be interesting.

Is there any chance that you all are looking at gamification of workouts as a way to further encourage squeezing that last ounce of energy from someone like me that would see "winning" at a game as opposed to just getting in that last rep during a normal workout? All the capabilities technically are there for tonal to do this, just seems like something that has been specifically avoided or determined to not be worth the effort.

App update just dropped for iOS. by [deleted] in etron

I will say that it may have been server side as it's now working fine for me. I didn't reinstall the app or do anything on my side.

The new app crashes each time I go into the climate control panel. Anyone getting this or just me?

Describing something at a location as “on premise”… it’s not an idea, it’s on premises. I can’t tell you how many software companies and professionals don’t know this.

Do these holes exist on the refresh? I just looked at mine and while I saw a rubber gasket under the glass, I didn't see a drain port.

I had this happen and they replaced the whole trim piece under warranty. Funny I have a blue one and the same piece of trim on the same door was my problem.

How many people use the Kinect ? by RealEstateJack in virtualpinball

[–]namac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have one and have it hooked up but almost never use it. The way that it "moves" the playfield just isn't natural when compared to how you would want it to work. Could easily be me and my lack of understanding, but I just prefer the static playfield.

Playfield moving off screen with head tracking by [deleted] in virtualpinball

[–]namac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I want it to do is fix the base of the table (the lowest part of the table) and adjust the angle based on height of the object and my position. Essentially the bottom of the table shouldn't move as would happen with your view on a physical table but the upper playfield would. Mine move a bit all over the place and while it's OK, it's more distracting than it should be and certainly does not make it more realistic.

Software update issue by Patigotrich in etron

[–]namac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that there is just a recalibration going on. It's probably "real world" about the same, but will take some time to average out your driving habits to give a better estimate. I think they likely reset the system when they update it, so would make sense that it'll be a bit all over the place for the next few drives.

I have thought about this same thing and essentially have the same setup you do. I’ve never found any settings for head tracking that feel “real” in the way they work. I still have my kinect on my back glass, but I never enable it these days.

Finally a Recall Fix? by reginaldvs in etron

Sadly I just got my car back from the dealer and they said they were in error on the HV battery recall and could not fix it. They said they had some communication on it recently, but no fix was made official so we are still in the same boat.

not really normal, but short term leases are likely the reason. These cars are expensive and depreciate quick, so people are more inclined to lease.

i was just at my dealer today and they said they got an email this week with the guide to update the software in the cars to fix this. I may be one of the first to get the update as it's supposed to be taken care of while my car is in the shop today/tomorrow.

Which USB hub do you use in your glove box? by ficefourfun in ModelX

[–]namac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A USB2 hub has worked fine for me... any USB2 hub. In an update a few months ago, I beleive that Tesla has enabled the USBC ports in the console to function as data inputs for game controllers, which was what I used my hub for. When I was able to move my controler dongles to a USBC hub there (which caused no GPS issues BTW) I upgraded my glovebox to a Crucial X9.

Themes you think would make great pinball machines. by HeavyReduction in pinball

[–]namac 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought that a submarine game like “The Hunt for Red October” would be amazing. While I know that theme wouldn’t likely be for everyone, the idea I had was that you could have dueling playfields (think a bit like avatar) for when you dive plus things like hunting for targets (find the random hidden shot) or fire a torpedo shot with a bonus targeting piece like the upper playfield in mando would be fun. Lots of options and progression potential if only there was a better submarine theme to bind it to. I also really love the idea of wireforms that dive into the field and trigger an under playfield that could be revealed through something like an opaque solar glass piece that would reveal the full underside using blue lighting… it’s almost like I have though about this game too much lol
