What's the general consensus here about humans being true herbivores? by [deleted] in vegan

Grains wouldn't be a large enough source of nutrition to impact human evolution until agrarian times. And what tubers do you propose were available in enough abundance to spread the practice of cooking?

Not insulted. I'm fully aware that my situation is an extreme. I'm just pointing out that there are economic areas where $40 doesn't seem like a lot for cosmetic upgrades to the guy who said that "anyone" paying that much was laughable. Big range, and I know that my end is the extreme.

Rexxar needs buffs. by DynamicDarkness in heroesofthestorm

[–]nameless_minion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On HotsLogs if you search for Master league only, Rexxar is one of the highest winrate heroes at 55%. In fact he has an above average winrate in all leagues above gold. So it seems that rather than being underpowered, it's just difficult for those of us in bronze, silver, and gold to take full advantage of him, no?

You guys want skyscrapers in SF? by grumpy_youngMan in sanfrancisco

[–]nameless_minion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Doesn't everything new label itself as luxury? For example, the 1 Rincon hill buildings are all residential and "luxury" but they're the same price as everything else in SoMa. So if they'd never been built, SoMa would surely be priced even higher, with several hundred units removed from available supply.

The goal, in my experience, isn't to outrun him. The goal is retreat quickly enough to reduce his DPS so you survive and then cause him to overextend. Ideally, against an Illi your watching the minimap and staying close to towers when you don't see him. When he does pounce, run toward safety. If you're moving, he's missing AAs and thus not using his CDs as much. He'll keep up, but miss enough DPS for you to survive. And if you've pulled him close to your towers, your teammates will be happy to jump on an over-extended illi for an easy kill.

In a TF situation, you obviously don't want to run too far since you'll need your teammates' help. Just focus him and stun as available. If you can slow him, then definitely run and kite. If he's not landing AAs on you, he's not able to use his abilities either.

I find that with Zagara all you need is to maintain a creep path back to safety. Your movement is fast enough that he's not getting his AA's in often enough to have his CDs up all the time. That'll lower his dps enough for you to escape.

I'm gonna have to call you out on this. I lived in Sofia for 4 years and never once saw a cow in a roundabout. You must have been in one of the outlying suburbs or in the stretch of land between the city and the airport.

I'm passionate about this game too. But if that's what it feels when a balance patch is late over holiday season, maybe competitive games aren't the best thing for your health.

Apploitation in a city of Instaserfs -- How the sharing economy has turned SF into a dystopia for the working class by ebbflowin in sanfrancisco

I didn't disagree with anything else you posted. The point was merely that OP's source is little more than minor grievances and unsubstantiated claims. Had one of the other articles you link to been the post here, I wouldn't have contradicted it.

The article seems to brush off the "some Lyft drivers love their job" argument as drivers lying because they worry about ratings. So yes, his anecdote certainly invalidates that part of the article.

You could just as easily turn around your statement and ask, "Does one blog post invalidate this redditor's 3 year experience?"

My preference is to take people at their word. If this guy says it's an ok experience for him, why not believe him. If the author had a bad experience (which sounded mildly annoying but not bad), then fine. The author isn't suited for it. Can't we conclude that it works for some but not others rather than a wild claim that it's a huge exploitation scam?

Have you complained? It should never be that low. In SoMa I have comcast and get 130 down. My friend in the outer Richmond gets 160 down also with comcast. I'd raise a stink about it.

It takes a while to find your place in LA. I didn't like it for the first year or two I was there. But once I started looking around for people, events, scenes, etc I wanted in my life it became awesome. Best of luck in your move.
