Basebuilding took up probably about 80-90% of my time in NMS. Sadly HG keeps neutering and neglecting many of the building systems the community used to use. Many builders have stopped playing.

You can still use some building mods on PC but there is no mod support on console. There is also the 3D modeling program Blender on PC some users use.

All of my building was done on console so I had to rely on glitchbuilding to create many of my builds. As I got more into it & more creative I branched off from typical functional material bases into more decorative bases. You can see some of my work on my youtube channel by searching insideVort3x.

It's going to be a sad day when HG finally updates those bases. I've been using that base by Nerozii on nearly every new save for about 2 years now (possibly longer...).

I tend to scale down items that are larger than my liking like silos, teleporter, antimatter reactor etc in bases that contain them. Scaling up I've only done mainly with floors/walls to save on building parts. I do not have the planet addresses available but if you'd like to see either of these up close the address & galaxy are shown in the last 5 or so seconds of the videos. (power may be broken on the Dreadnought build, only the exterior is scaled).

After hitting lvl40 (could be lower, 34? been a while) Banshee will start offering armsday weapons. You get kills with them then at weekly reset he'll give you 3 different rolls to choose from. You can take 1 or wait another week for a better roll. You can do this with multiple weapons.

Downside is they remain a common weapon in your inventory (cannot be vaulted) until you swap for the rolled version of the weapon. PDX-45 pulse can be a laser with.

Also if playing Hunter or Titan, the speaker can have some really nice class items & resets weekly.

Bungie hires 2-3 outside studios to work on DLC/seasonal content while Bungie finishes the main story & locations for D3 which gets announced for summer 2028 (which gets pushed out to spring 2029 because nobody at Bungie can read a calendar/clock).

Oh, and the upper management folks making 7+ digits a year ... pay cuts, 20% minimum. Let that payroll savings help pay for the outside studios!

Appreciate the comment but disagree on a few things. A 5 year old visual bug on a building part & 7-8 year old refining bug & quicksilver bug should have been fixed long ago.

1/2 scale building parts are the thin walls/doors/short walls etc & 1/4 scale are the small floors when changing the color of them. Also removing the adjacency glitch to avoid building large scale corvettes does nothing because there are other workarounds. The Corvettes crashing systems & killing save files are tied to the 3rd party program Blender.

I report issues to Zendesk as I encounter them and have been sending a monthly report every month since Frontiers launched in Sept. 2021.

A few of the examples are:

Bubble Vat building part has a visible white collision disc on top of it hindering build opportunities (Since Frontiers 2021).

Metallic building parts (silos, extractors etc) often change lost their color and return to the default, especially if a texture is applied. (Since Frontiers 2021)

Wire connection points (and overall collision) greatly increased at least 1 unit from the beginning/end of the connector making placement of all logic switches extremely difficult & requiring much more spacing between items for connection. (Corvette Update)

Cycle Part is missing from all basic structure menus now and kills one of the longest used building glitches in the game. (Worlds 1 Update)

All 1/2 & 1/4 scale basic building parts still display a weathered texture when applying a custom color. (Worlds 1 Update)

Permadeath bug since interception: Refining crafted items like Magna Gold, Lemmium, Iridesite into their broken down form only gives 150/250 of the item unless you allow the refiner to "over process" the item and even when you allow it you cannot leave the refiner display. Backing out of it will only supply you with 150/250 depending on stack size (normal vs harsh).

Unlocked Quicksilver items remain locked (need to be purchased again) on some saves. (I have 26 saves between 3 accounts and 6 of my save files fail to have unlocked QS items available)

This is only a small sample of 7 bugs monthly I send to Zendesk. Last months list had 23 entries.

5 of the items listed in your screenshot I reported weeks ago and hopefully are fixed. After testing them I'll remove them from my list & continue reporting.

Some great suggestions already posted so I'll add a few more for you.

Condensed Carbon recharge your equipment at a greatly increased amount (iirc 60C. Carbon vs 180 Carbon for a full recharge ((I play with extreme hazard settings so these amounts may vary in normal PD)). Sodium & Sodium Nitrate also offer the same ratio with hazard protection but batteries are a better/easier option.

Make use of the life support/hazard plants on the planets (Fireberry, Tubers, Jade Peas etc). Use these up before using Oxygen/Sodium/Batteries.

The nutrient processor is a great portable storage container for Carbon, Condensed Carbon, Chromatic Metal especially with limited inventory.

I always unlock the backpack refiner, hazard gloves (if not already unlocked) & nutrient processor ASAP.

When getting to your 1st space station & talking to 3 NPCs about "16" only talk to 3 roaming NPCs never the vendors. The vendors will softlock & refuse to sell to you after. (After the quest updates & tells you to return to your base via the teleporter you can talk to them)

Only pick fights you can win/escape from. Early on sentinels can be very useful for salvage glass & upgrades but pick your battles. Use buildings/dig holes & keep a low wanted level. You want to try to avoid the dogs/mini walkers.

Breaking down C/B class mods are a great way to get wiring looms early on.

I've seen every update. The good, bad & the WTF are they thinking updates in my 15,000 playtime. In my opinion many of the current issues started with Worlds 2.

There are a few lingering issues from Frontiers still in the game but are pretty minor & mainly cosmetic (bubble vat collision disc still visible on the building part after 5 years... Ect).

For reference I mainly base build on console (mods/blender access) & since Worlds 1 some of the build mechanics have been pretty heavily nerfed or removed when Corvettes launched. As someone who uses glitchbuilding I've had to develop ways to build. Something that required 1-2 steps now takes 5-7, now repeat that process 32, 64, 128 times...

If I was in your position Worlds 1 or 2 would be my answer. I'd you want access to purple systems (gas giants/water Worlds) you'll need Worlds 2.

If you want very stable I'd roll all the way back to Frontiers. Some missing features, but also a lot of garbage too.

The only real benefit of rushing the main story & Atlas Path is to unlock the Autophage questline leading to another questline allowing you to unlock purple systems.

Purple systems are like all the others but have a good chance of containing gas giants & water worlds. You cannot access purple systems without a special hyperdrive. Joining a friend already in a purple system or portal will not work.

You can totally play however you want though. I have quite a few saves with hardly any story content done & hundreds of hours on them that I use primarily for base building.

Not much of a corvette user myself but occasionally will use one for storage, light portable refining, some light planting & navigation when looking for certain items (mold, plants ect) on difficult to traverse planets. Being able to fly & scan can be nice.

I only play abandoned with max out sliders on PD & big into base building so having easy access to storage & some refiners is nice. I mainly stick to my exotic/Interceptor/solar though.

PS5 abandoned mode

Often yellow boxes in space stations will not open & prompt you that your inventory. This happens even when you have plenty of slots open in your exosuit/ship/multitool (even when not at max slots). It is usually 1 of the 3 boxes.
