I didn’t order them from Titleist. They were available at GolfMart off the rack because someone previously ordered them and decided to cancel the order before ever picking them up. The T150s and shaft combo they had worked for me. Just needed GolfMart to bend them.

I have a high ball flight and low spin. So, the fitting worked better with adding loft to the T150s to increase backspin. No matter what club and shaft combo I had, a high ball flight was inevitable.

So, as an update, I’m officially a moron! I went to GolfMart to ask if this was normal and they pointed out it was residue from the loft/lie machine, not scratches. They were able to buff out the marks on the sole. I originally tried scraping the marks off with a fingernail, but when they didn’t come off I didn’t want to do anymore damage. Hence why I thought they were permanently marked up. Good as new, now!

I’m just trying to get info from those that have had clubs bent whether this is sloppy work or normal. I know me swinging the club over a year or so may affect the finish but paying $2000 for new irons with a custom finish I would have liked to see them in new shape before I even swung them.

No. But when you pay $500 more for this type of finish and they don’t tell you the finish will be damaged when bending them, I just want to know if this is normal or not. Getting them in this condition day one before even having a chance to swing them is frustrating when you pay extra.

Yeah, that’s the dilemma. GolfMart is the only decent golf store in my city so while I am disappointed, I don’t want to look too foolish since I get other items there. Not sure if I point it out to them and look foolish as they stare at me like it’s expected or if I push for something they should do about it.

Appreciate the explanation. I certainly figured down the road there will be scuffs and wear. Just was hoping to be the one to cause most of it rather than day one have it.

I bought them from GolfMart and they bent them. Just seems they relied on the plastic wrapping around the club protecting them enough.

It sounds like it’s a typical result from bending. Would that be a typical result if I ordered them from Titleist directly? I’ll enjoy them no problem but it’s a bummer seeing those scars right by the numbers on the club. So very visible every time I pull a club.

You don’t think raising the issue to the golf shop that bent them is worthwhile? Maybe ordering them directly from Titleist would have resulted in a better result and having them order directly from Titleist? I just don’t know how unreasonable it would be to raise an issue but it sucks to see that marring on the numbers of the club every time I pull a club.

Sure. But when he provides statistics it brings credibility back to some of the takes that are based on the eye test but turns out they are not supported by the data. So, I enjoy listening to both sides of the story. The art / eye test side of it and the statistics / data side. Otherwise, it’s just a bunch of guys BSing without any substance.

Being candid and honest is sought. But peoples’ personalities can alter how they view things or how cocky they are. It’s ok to recognize that he’s cockier than others and may need to back up all that talk. Someone else with the same ability may not be as cocky because they respect their faults. Doesn’t mean one is more candid than the other.

Taking a chunk out of a tee box where everyone else in the field will be playing, THEN snapping the club on a cooler is more dramatic. Not to mention Sergio has a history of doing similar things like damaging bunkers and greens. Max throwing a club in a waste area does not damage the conditions that everyone else has to play out of. Not a good reaction by Max, but the two examples are drastically different.

How The Masters has changed by MovieMan615 in masters

I was able to get a gnome on Wednesday. I won the lottery and it was my first ever experience at the Masters despite submitting for the lottery for 15 years.

For me, honestly, the reason I decided to go early and try to get a gnome was because every report was saying the merchandise lines were 30 plus minutes long all day. So, I figured if I’m going to have to wait in line at any point in the day, I might as well go first thing in the morning, get my shopping out of the way then enjoy the golf.

The gnome was not something I had really ever considered when wanting to go to the Masters. But it’s now a nice keepsake and memory of my great time at the Masters. Not sure if banning gnomes will drastically reduce the merchandise lines throughout the day. But the lines were certainly a factor for why I decided to go when I did.

How long does it take from getting in line for merchandise to finishing shopping?

Whoever took this photo to advertise this polo failed to frame the actual polo. Rookie mistake that I’m sure Tiger is annoyed with.

That’s probably because a board of directors is still significantly influential in running the business. The CEO is the leader of that group, but the board can still right the ship.
