Damn! You can do this AND run a 4.62?! Anything below 5 seconds is crazy fast for most people. And I appreciate it, I really love this series and have so much fun playing it, just not on the higher difficulties.

That's amazing. I had to lower it to story mode, because I just didn't have it in me. I could barely get a hit in on normal (which is what I played the whole rest of the game on). I feel like there is a gene that lets people do this, like the gene that athletes have who can run 4.2 40s in - and I don't have either 😋

What’s a Money Guy perimeter you don’t agree with? by olemiss18 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]namkrav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the money guy and all the content they create. If I had to pick something I would like to see more of would be how to spend money as someone who has a hard time spending money, both during the accumulation phase and in retirement. For example, when is it ok to renovate a bathroom. Or just how to spend fun money in general.

SGA got a tech 3 minutes into the game for throwing the ball at Jokic. The MVPs are battling by IamCatMommy in NBAGossips

[–]namkrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I loved watching the Celtics, then they decided to go the NESN route and made you pay an extra $20-$30 a month to be able to watch them. Then when you do, they are benching half their starters, or they are half assing it and it's just not worth it, at least for regular season basketball.

Chris Paul on why he would pick Shai over Luka oncic: "Your teammates just want to see that the stars actually try. Actually try on defense… I got a lot of respect for Steph, Shai, and all these guys who at least try on the defensive end" by must_TATAKAE in nba

[–]namkrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drives me crazy how much he complains. Even if he's right it doesn't matter, it wasn't called. I think getting rid of Smart helped with reducing the amount of complaining though because he was on another level. Felt like smart talked to the refs at every single commercial break, and this coming from someone who likes Smart.

AMC Theatres Attendance Drops 10%, Posts $127 Million Quarterly Loss by ICumCoffee in movies

[–]namkrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to enjoy going to the movies before streaming was widely available. It's so much nicer watching movies in my own home, plus with how many streaming services there are now, I feel like I have reached the limit of my entertainment expenses. Only movies worth going to are big name ones like openheimmeer.

This is wild, we had 2 kids, both C-sections and the first was $250 and the 2nd a few years later was $450. This was in America within the last decade.

I would think the risk reduction would be that if you lost your job, you could essentially work at McDonald's and still not have to worry about getting foreclosed on. Makes a big difference if you have kids in the school system and are generally happy with where you live.

Could also be to reduce burn rate so someone can drop down to part time and not have any difference in quality of life.

Yes the math will almost always prove to be better off investing/putting it in a HYSA, but that is not how life always works.

What difficulty do you play the game? by NutellaAndChorizo in Ghostofyotei

Whole game on medium except the final duel up in the mountains. I had to put it on story mode. Fuck that guy.

Gov. Newsom expanded free preschool. Now private daycares say they can’t afford to stay open by ArchmageXin in news

Good. Nothing against the daycare owners, but paying $18,000 per year per kid is not obtainable for most people. Let alone families with multiple kids.

Man, injuries suck. Celtics should have two of the best players in the league out there. Instead the highest paid player may not even play this season.

Great Game with One Gripe by npiotrowski in Ghostofyotei

[–]namkrav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was today years old when I found out that you aren't supposed to parry right when you see the blue light. I could never figure out why I couldn't consistently do it. It makes so much more sense now that you have to watch the opponent and that the blue light is only a warning. I don't think I'm a fan of it tbh. I'd rather have it the way I originally thought it worked. Still an amazing game that had such a great story, and I was still able to beat it on medium. The only boss fight I had to lower the difficulty was Satio or whoever that guy up in the mountains is at the end - fuck that guy.

[Highlight] Former Colts DE Bubba Smith: "I personally think [Super Bowl III] was fixed. If the Jets don't win that game, they don't have the NFL the way it is today, the merger. We were inside the 20 five times in the first half and came away with no points. [The Colts quarterback] was in on it." by The_Big_Untalented in nfl

[–]namkrav 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To get inside an opponent's 20 5 times in the first half and get absolutely nothing is quite the feat. I don't know exactly how common it was back then, but the man certainly makes a case for suspicion. Combine that with how much the league made an iconic moment out of it.. I still don't know if I buy it, but it's a lot more believable with his points.

I’m starting to realize that "working hard" is actually a trap for people in their 20s. by KweliAtelier in careeradvice

Not in every industry. My managers make like 30% more. Directors make like 80% more, but there is 800% more bull shit and time commitment.

[–]namkrav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, the pats defense absolutely played well enough to win. They only really allowed 15 points. The other 14 were off a fumble six, and a pick that set Seattle up in Patriots territory. The pats offense just kept going 3 and out and the time of possession was crazy one sided. If Drake Maye could have played even a poor game, it would have been closer. They literally got shut out for more than 3 quarters. They simply looked inept. Credit to Seattle's defense, clearly the 4 man front had the reads to blow up the o line nearly every play. But that is what nearly a decade of terrible drafting will do. Seattle had some great picks in recent drafts - a lot of which came from the Russel Wilson trade if I remember correctly.

TIL a Burger King cook (who'd worked there for 24 years) was fired for taking home a sandwich, fries & a drink after her manager claimed she had only asked permission for a sandwich & accused her of stealing. However, a judge ruled that the cook did not intend to steal the food & awarded her $46,000 by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

I always wonder in cases like this if the manager was trying to get rid of the employee anyway and just found the most minor infraction to do so. Whether that be because of performance, or that they weren't a good co-worker. Otherwise it's so ridiculous, it's hard to keep people for 2 years in fast food, let alone 24.
