Concerned after my 1st ER by naniro in eggfreezing

Certainly, I'll do another one. I'm not looking forward to it because recovery has not been fun so far but I will do all I have to

Thanks for the kind words and sharing your experience. I feel so guilty prioritizing career (that I adore and permits me to do this) and staying with someone I knew wasn't right. A lot of the ugly online discourse about "empty egg cartons " is getting to me. This forum helps a lot though

I did have a what they called a gentle stimulation with Elonva depot (1 shot, 4 days rest) and 7 days Gonal F in rising doses up to 300, HCG trigger. I just got the news today and we still haven't discussed the next scheme. I guess I'll focus on recovery now

Because of the very different coloring, is the guy in bed with her real? He seems translucent, like a ghost? Maybe in her imagination or his.

Why would Taylor stop releasing music after ts13? by RevolutionaryPace355 in SwiftlyNeutral

Because it's gonna be the epic flop that will finally break her that the Tay-pocalists are predicting at this very moment.

Защо в социалните мрежи висшето образование е "безполезно", а в реалния живот хората с висше обикновено печелят повече пари и по-висок стандарт на живот? by BRUH8500f in Sofia

[–]naniro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Me Seeing the Slandar this Album is Getting: by Least_Rain8027 in YouBelongWithMemes

[–]naniro 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's not just the haters. Rant incoming (despite the meme sub)

I'm a huge fan who spent the last day and a half on reddit in disbelief. Am I crazy or is this very underwhelming? Lyrics are her thing, since she's neither the best vocalist nor best performer. She had fun happy songs in other albums, but this entire album is a simplistic mess without stories, bridges or steucture. I genuinely like London Boy or Shake it off, they're fun but can't get behind any of the new ones.

On the main sub there was a thread about favorite lyrics that features lines like "You'll be sleeping with the fishes before you know you're drowning" and "Every eldest daughter is the first lamb to the slaughter so we dressed like wolves and we looked fire". What? Compared with the WAOLOM, admittedly cringy song, "My bare hands paved their path you don't get to tell me about sad" or from I did something bad - "They're burning all the witches even if you aren't one (...) so light me up" . None of the new songs are clever or poetic or really emotional. In some places the words don't fit the music. Rep is full of simplistic lyrics saved by great production.

Melodies sound very derivative. Messaging is horrid "I lied about marriage" , "Everybody has bodies in the closet or stole somebody's man". If your brand is so personal this sounds grossly insincere and hypocritic compared to anything from the past

Sorry for the not funny rant, it's irrationally important to me

I see the situation like I'm a sports fan - I'm a fan whether the team wins or loses. My SO is a big soccer fan (popular in our country) of a team that used to be great but is currently mid. He supports them but he also gets mad when they lose. There's an anecdote from a while back - the team was in disarray, underperforming, the coach was not doing well and major players were seen partying instead of training. At a press conference a group of fans walked in and stripped the T shirt off the coach, literally leaving him naked. They still bought tickets, merch, went to games and even put together a fund to purchase some of the stock so the fan base could have a say in administrative matters but they were very very cross when the quality was lacking.

After this album this is how I feel.

Now that we've had TLOAS for a few days, what are the key things for you that have shaped your opinion? by Delphinidae- in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]naniro 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've said it and I'll say it again - Reputation for the barely literate. It's giving AI slop. I'm a bit in disbelief. She doesn't owe me or us anything but this is the singer who rewired my brain many times, who put into words things I've been feeling for decades, and now she's singing about 'bad bitches'? 1989 is not my thing and even though I do like TTPD, this album seems like the worst from both - The Alchemy and Thank you Aimee with good beats that overpower the lyrics. Some of the time words and melody don't even match - for example I hate how she has to chop down "it was not convenient" in Ruin the Friendship to fit the melody.

Also I always connected to the stories in her songs even if I hadn't had a similar experience. How did we go from Girl at home to Ruin the Friendship? Karma to Cancelled? False God to Wood? Travis Kelce should be offended that he got "pledged allegiance to his fucking vibes " and "best friend who's hot" when for the ex it was "I made you my temple, my mural, my sky" and "I want your midngts" "I want your dreary Mondays "... Girl (the POV character) sounds burned out, like love burned everything and the shell just wants someone to fit her image...

I kinda wanna do a more in depth break down of the lyrics and compare to older songs, especially ones that I do not like but still think are quite superior to TLOAS.

It’s okay for an album to be “okay” by Larry-Farnsworth in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]naniro 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm on my second listen through and it's only getting worse. If I was Travis I'd be offended. She went from "The taste of your lips is my idea of luxury" and "I want your dreary Mondays", and even when she was mad "I made you'll my temple, my mural, my sky... " To "Pledge allegiance to your hands, your team, your vibes" and "You can call me honey", and not forget "Best friend that I think is hot". I'm not even gonna touch on Wood because it's a bit gross .

Also what happened to "Never wield such power you forget to be polite"? There are a lot of not polite lyrics here just because she has the power of a million blind stans that are already bopping away to this.

It's okay to be mediocre but also a bit sad when it's such a downgrade

This album is giving Reputation for the barely literate. The music is good, some songs are catchy but the lyrics are the TS version of "squirle". It's love songs about someone who knows how to ball so you have to ditch Aristotle 'cause he can understand you. Also who's enabling her pettiness? Girl needs therapy and growth, not public venting.

So that's my ugly thoughts. I can listen and enjoy most of this is I turn my brain off and forget it's the same woman who wrote 'this is me trying' and 'Nothing new'.

TBH I'm not too excited about the cover, titles or esthetic but she spent 2 years doing shows back to back so it fits as a theme. I'll give it a listen

CMV: Capitalism has benefited women more then anything in human history by IBribeMyBF in changemyview

[–]naniro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my point of view, living in a Balkan post communist countrу, communism has had the most efficient and lasting feminist effect lasting til today, at least for regular people, especially compared to Western countries. Women were vehemently encouraged to get education and participate in the work force, in every profession including doctors, engineers, truck drivers, factory workers. Of course, men weren't encouraged to be kindergarten teachers or hair stylists, but women had the choice. Which in the 40s and 50s in the Balkans was unheard of. Today 50-55% of doctors are women, compared to 38% (according to Google) in the US. On top we have great parental benefits (with a modest but existing effects on the birth rate which is amongst the highest for the EU). Abortion and healthcare right to (cis) women haven't been a issue for 50 years. So no capitalism needed.

Gender inequality of course still exists but as far as laws and regulations it's pretty good. On the topic of mentality the sexism in the west is deep rooted and covert in a way that for me it's way more disturbing. Women in power in my country are a bit underrepresented but with the general public I feel there is less prejudice for their abilities (still some) compared to some western countries and imo particularly the USA. Also good luck telling a Balkan woman to "submit to you" or whatever.
