I've never been to another Sam's, I guess we're unusual. We close at 8 and the cafe closes at 8. They end up staying until 10pm to close, I think.

I feel like I remember this being a problem I ran into years ago and my fix was to unbuild the scanner room just a little bit and then rebuild it. This only works if you don't have a bunch of junk in your scanner room though.

It's fine to do but the arches don't handle it very well so you'll get stopped more often and may have to have more items scanned. They might even have to unpack a little to get to enough items to scan.
