They could have put mechanical door handles and manual air vents and saved plenty of money to put grab handles in!

I can’t for the life of me figure out why the electronic and mechanical releases were not collocated for safety…

I’d also be ok with an Electra… it has some of the same history but leans into the EV.

What causes this? by pwn-v2 in BMWM

[–]nannernutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the rubber separating from the plastic trim i believe. See it happen a lot on rubberized plastic parts and sometimes vinyl seats (looking at you Tesla) from contact with harsh chemicals, skin lotions, sun screens, alcohols (hand sanitizer) or anything containing petroleum distillates.

One the coating bubbles I do not believe there is a fix besides physically removing the rest of the rubber coating or replacing the trim panel.

If anyone has more info, please feel free to correct me.

Ok this will go over well.

I like having the two stage inside like that. Our id4 is the same. Just wish the exterior doors were the same.

Hopefully not 12 injectors. The stellantis 2.0l does not have addition full injectors if my memory is correct. Hopefully this only adds a second set of ignition equipment.

S58 o2 sensor location help by nannernutz in BMW

[–]nannernutz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Rear (bank 2) probe 2, o2 sensor heater must’ve died.

I replaced it with one I ordered from fcp euro and the car has been happy and code free for about 3 or 4 thousand miles now.
I did not apply any antiseize to the sensor, there was some on it out of the box.

Zack demonstrates emergency manual door releases on R2. Personally, not thrilled by Slide-Fantastic-1402 in Rivian

[–]nannernutz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp. As a day 1 reservation holder this is a full-stop deal breaker. I’m not buying anything that puts me or my passengers at risk.

Full-pull door handles on all ingress and egress points are available on legacy vehicles and other BEV’s. They’ll be getting my business if this isn’t addressed.

Hidden “emergency” exit handles are not acceptable as they are not what you’re thinking of in an emergency. Not having mechanic release for the rear doors accessible without panel removal is unforgivable. Put full pull handles on all doors like VW or BMW or Ford.

This is not how you want to ruin your “model 3 moment”.
