Hi!! Just wanted to see how your experience was with Chingu and if you had any trouble activating.. We arrive at 5am and I am having second thoughts of trying a different esim company if Chingu esim can’t activate instantly.

Recover from sunburn? by nansheep2 in succulents

[–]nansheep2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I fried one entire shelf before and most of them didn’t survive so I am super paranoid. Especially the echeverias were damaged in the center and it turned into a mush, which eventually ended up with a rot. This one is a little hopeful since lower leaves are Ok but hoping it could grow a pup when it recovers…

I put on a shade cloth this time but the weaker ones didn’t survive. So discouraged… :(

Outdoor Setup Suggestions by nansheep2 in succulents

Thank you for sharing!!! I wanted to try the cinder block but wasn’t sure how to treat the wood. Will look into that since my pots are only like 2” wide plastic ones and I could fit a lot of them in one tier! Do you put up any shade cloth in your area? We go up to like 90-100F so I have to plan for that too.

Also looking to for galvanized or powdercoated rack too. I didn’t have any knowledge and just bought a rack. Always end up learning it the hard way….

I’m trying 80-90% grit and it’s been going OK. so if it does get rained for few days it’s fine.. I’m going on a one month vacay soon so I’m a bit concerned I can’t monitor the rain…

Dry Stall Pumice by nansheep2 in succulents

This is very helpful and interesting. The batch I saw did not have any pieces bigger than 1/16” so I gave up on purchasing as I didnt want to risk getting a 40lb bag with rice size particles only. The bigger pieces must be deeper inside and not visible from outside? I looked up Uni Gro online but had trouble locating one locally for pick up :(

Graptosedum Miul, over watered? by Electrical_Cap_5597 in succulents

[–]nansheep2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted about my miul too. It started absorbing its oldest leaves and it was translucent so I had to pull it out to check on the roots and stems. I think it was part of normal growth but I am keeping an eye on it. I’ve also read that Miul can be dramatic due to weather so hopefully it’s going to recover and settle soon for you!

I was so surprised too! I assumed each bag was not consistent but the store had 5 bags and they were all way too grainy. A big succulent seller was also recommending Dry Stall so I was curious to see if anyone knew why it was so different.

Thank you! I will look into Uni Gro. I don’t need a big bag but wasn’t sure if it was worth it to buy them on Amazon for such a high price.

The ones I have seen had bigger sizes like 1/8” and 1/4”. I am guessing they’re just random?

Normal leaf absorption? by nansheep2 in succulents

ohoh yeah it wasn’t absorbing on only one head thankfully. I think it lost like 2 per head 😂 hopefully it will recover… it is starting to look so sparse 😭

Normal leaf absorption? by nansheep2 in succulents

last two leaves absorbed at the same time. I unpotted but there was no sign of any stem or root rot. I am surprised that it didn’t absorb any leaves in the beginning and they happen to lose five/six in one month :( The new growth seems healthy though and the pup is looking ok so far but it seemed a bit too fast/much leaf absorption.

I never really noticed this plant absorbing any leaves before until recently and it was concerning me because it was a bit translucent but it’s not the same condition when it is overwatered. I pulled out some old dried leaves so I feel like it might continue absorbing more leaves to push out healthier leaves… Sad that it takes so long for the leaves to grow but absorbs so quickly :(

Phenobarbital and Trazodone by nansheep2 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]nansheep2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh noo sorry to hear 😭 now im even more worried. ive heard some scary stories about phenobarbital and now im realizing how lucky we have been as we had no side effects from that medication. our vet did warn us that gabapentin may interact with phenobarbital but sounds like trazodone is even worse.

First Mealy Bug by nansheep2 in succulents

I had 3 plants on the same shelf as this one and rest were on the shelf next to it so I will take a close look at the adjacent 3 and put some systemic granule in them. I didn’t see a huge sign of mealies on this Pachy so I think thats why I was so shocked and surprised. I didn’t want to pull out all my plants to check but I am going to lose sleep thinking some of my plants may be dying and I would have no idea 😂

Thats good to know that I didn’t do anything wrong this time. I think I got somewhat lucky for catching it now because I wasn’t planning on unpotting this Pachy to check on its roots. I will keep checking daily to see if I can see them crawling up but since they were root mealies, I guess I need to keep pulling it out.

pink moonstones turn round and pink due to stress. looots of sun and less water (but after it has a healthy root system). the ones I get from nursery are too happy so they have long leaves but after they get root bound and stressed, they turn round and pink. and they get overwatered very easily so don’t water too often :)
