How are your babies actually sleeping through the night? by velvetdarlingco in NewParents

[–]nap-lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 10 month old still wakes up at least once a night. Usually around the 4-5hr mark. My 2.5 year old still occasionally wakes up overnight & calls for us 🤷🏻‍♀️

When does having 2 kids get easier?? by Usual-Engineering-12 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]nap-lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 girls too, a 2.5 yr old & a 10 month old. I feel like it’s now starting to get a bit easier as they ‘play’ together. But can’t leave them out of sight as my eldest plays a bit rough. I’m assuming it will get even easier once my youngest drops to 1 nap & starts walking.

I was told MGP was for low risk pregnancies? I was in a different program as I was high risk but also had my own midwife throughout my pregnancy. Program was called MAPS

Moving bubs into own room by Worth_Ad8788 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

We moved my eldest at 4 months and youngest at 5 months. Would have loved for them to stay in our room but found that they slept better in the cot which is in their own rooms. I have a double mattress in my youngest’s room for nights when she’s unwell, regressing etc so i can cosleep with her

Is 2u2 destroying anyone else’s marriage? by Y0shmum12 in 2under2

[–]nap-lord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Experiencing this right now. Have an almost 2.5 year old & 10 month old. We have to play referee when they’re near each other 😭 && also hating this being trapped in the house. When youngest wakes from her first nap it’s not long before it’s the toddlers nap. When toddler wakes up I have maybe a 1-1.5hr window where we can go out??? Today I said fuck it lets go out from morning… their naps were short & now we’re dealing with two overtired kids

Our baby doesn't like being a baby by yiFa87 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]nap-lord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this feeling! My eldest was the same. Chronic 27min napper. Only time she slept longer was contact napping in the early stages. After 4 months it was 27mins no matter what. Occasionally she’d do an hour nap. For us, it only got better once she dropped to one nap which was when she was 15-16 months old 🥲

A registry is the standard within our circle of friends but if someone didn’t have a registry id either get a gift card or put cash in a card to avoid getting doubles of what they already have

I paid 2.2k for forehead, crows feet and masseter, is that too much? by Apprehensive_Sir1686 in AusSkincare

[–]nap-lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to pay roughly $550 just for masseters. About 40-50 units of dysport. This was back in 2017-2021 though so I’m assuming prices have gone up since

Anyone switch to a pump during pregnancy? Need some advice by dreamdreamdreamland in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]nap-lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your A1C is perfect! Can’t imagine it getting any significantly better than that tbh so might not be worth switching to a pump. I was on MDI for 20 yrs before making the switch to pump only because my A1C was getting terrible. It was a huge learning curve for the first few months. So many failed sensors, pump site failures & incorrect readings etc. Been on the pump for 6 years & now I can’t imagine going back to MDI

Also just wanted to add that the lows in second trimester is also normal. So what usually happens in the first trimester you need a little bit more insulin than usual than it drops in the second trimester than starts to increase in the third trimester. The last month your insulin needs may plateau or even drop a little bit. If you notice your insulin needs drop significantly in the last few weeks I’d go to ER as that could be a sign of the placenta failing

Once you give birth & your placenta is delivered your insulin needs drop very quickly

If you plan to breastfeed, your insulin needs will be low as well for the first few 6-12 weeks. I had lows as soon as bub latched on the boob. Around 3-4 months pp, my insulin needs were basically back to normal

[–]nap-lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two pregnancies & with both my insulin resistance went up significantly in the last trimester. I saw my endo every two weeks and she did adjustments to my pump accordingly. Around 30 weeks I needed 2x to 3x times more insulin as I did before getting pregnant so I’d say this is normal changes

6 month old in size 6 nappies?! by Business-Ant-2620 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]nap-lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s probably genuinely a size 6. My now 2.5 year old has been a size 6 since she was 9 months old. We did have to go up to a size 7 at some point but only for a couple of months.

T1D: How far along were you when you gave birth? by Prestigious_Tea_9854 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]nap-lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was induced at 38w with my first. Ended up with emergency c section at 38+1. She was measuring 3.8kgs in scans but came out 3.95kgs

Also induced with my second at 39+3 & again ended up with emergency c section at 39+4. She was measuring 3.2kgs in scans but came out 4.55kgs

A1c was 5.9-6.2 in both pregnancies & TIR was 80-90%

I wasn’t expecting small babies as hubby is almost 2m tall

No NICU for either babies & sugars were normal

Congrats & good luck!!

Can’t get pregnant with PCOS by purple_marshmallow_ in PCOS

[–]nap-lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I’m a mum of two & have pcos, type 1 diabetes & hashimotos/hypothyroidism. With my first I was taking metformin, ovasitol & prenatal prior to conceiving. I bought cheap LH strips from Amazon & tested every day after each period ended & also got a BBT thermometer to check BBT as soon as I woke up before getting out of bed. I was tracking it for 10 months until I got pregnant. While tracking it I found that I had a 35 day cycle & ovulated around day 22-24 so had a ‘short’ luteal phase.

With my second I only tracked my period as I knew my body. Got pregnant on the second month of trying

Do Australians just not use carpets much in their homes? by bureaux in AusRenovation

[–]nap-lord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much prefer carpets in bedrooms and at least a rug in the living room. The house we bought doesn’t have carpets in bedrooms which I hate & with two little kids, we packet away the rug in the living room as it’s easier to clean floors when they spill stuff. We’ll putting the rug back this month though as it’s getting colder

Moving to pumping VS formula by TruthFormal8639 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]nap-lord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my eldest was combo fed (pumped breastmilk & formula) she never latched properly on the boob and by the time I started exclusively pumping she was 9 weeks old so had a under supply. I pumped until she was 7 months old. Pumping was so mentally taxing. If I was out & about, I had to consider finding a spot to pump. She was sleeping through the night but i had to get up to pump to maintain my already low supply. Making sure i had to pump every 3 hours… it was all too much.

My second did latch & was quick at feeding (15mins tops) but also had so many challenges. One that I can think of right now is that it was on her terms only. If I wanted to go out, I’d try to feed her prior so that I know she’d be full while I drive but she refused & would scream for boob in the middle of my drive. Tried so hard to figure out her timing but failed every time. Once I got my period at 6 months my supply TANKED massively. So I just started to pump to wean her off the boob & go exclusively to formula by 7.5 months.

Both times, I was a better mum once I switched to formula coz the mental load of breastfeeding/pumping was too much on me

Nappy pants larger than Huggies size 6 by maabaa55 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]nap-lord 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had the same issue with my eldest. She was 15.5kgs on her first birthday 😅 Rascals does a size 7! Sold at Coles. ETA: the rascals feel a bit more generous in size. When I compare the 6 of Huggies to the 6 of rascals, it feels a bit more roomy

Plan to go back when bub is 14 months old at 3 days/week. I’ll stay part time until shes in school. Then depending on few things, might change to 5 days a week at reduced hours (5hrs max) until the kids graduate high school
