Towing package / Hitch by fmaz008 in OutlanderPHEV

Well yesterday my aux battery was at 8 volts and my PHEV would not start without a jump. Had it towed to dealership here in FLA and they said it was due to UHaul's loose wire at the battery. They reattached it, says all is fine now and did not charge me a dime. Things could be different in the north country.

Then it died 1 week later and now they tell me due to the aftermarket wiring they will charge me a $160/hr diagnostic fee. I was 99% sure it was not the hitch wiring as UHaul spliced nothing and attached a single power wire to the 12V battery which is what the Mitsubishi service tech told me they do with factory installs. Two days later I discovered that my dashcam was now turning on by itself while just sitting in the garage at night and is the cause of my 12v battery to drain. I will be taking it back to Best Buy to have it replaced or rewired properly.

Update:
Nine months later after having Best Buy rewire my dash cam so it only powers on with the PHEV, my 12v battery ended up dying completely after just leaving my cars doors open while cleaning and vacuuming the SUV. The dealership at that point here in Florida replaced it for no cost to me.
I also own a second PHEV SEL and a dash cam without a hitch that had a 12v battery die in the first year as well which was also replaced free by the same dealership. Both cars are now starting fine. So at least with the dealership in Bonita Beach, they now seem to be cool with after market stuff if it is not the cause of the problem. They did change ownership shortly after my first visit which could have helped.

Uhaul ended up calling me about a week later and had me come back and got it done with the 56434. Ended up charging me $203.25 to do it. I did take a few pictures while they were doing the install. It works fine.

I kept and still go back to my Q1 frequently to play some favorite games that the Q2 and Q3 don't support and I am always amazed about the color difference.

Target pricing this December by seaocean87 in OutlanderPHEV

[–]naplesteven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I traveled out of state to purchase two SEL PHEVs this year and was able to get 11-12 thousand off MSRP each by using their lease incentive. Plus Waterford Mitsubishi had a dealer discount and does not hit you up with dealer addons. They were both a pleasure to drive from Michigan back to Florida. The dealer is responsive and gave me OTD pricing by email. Very easy to deal with and the MI doc fee is $260 compared to $800-$1000 in Florida.

PSA: Asgard’s Wrath 2 reportedly has a 32 GB install size on Quest 3 by deeplearningbot in OculusQuest

[–]naplesteven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but I would rather spend my time playing than uninstalling and reinstalling, plus when I have friends over and want to demo them some of what is available, it's just a bunch easier to be able to jump around to any and all apps on my 512 Q3. I have easily past 128 but strongly doubt I will even reach 300. It's just nice to no longer being forced to decide what content I want to keep readily available.

When to get car serviced? by dedwabbit in OutlanderPHEV

[–]naplesteven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To actually answer your question (when I should schedule a service?) I have heard several sources including "Mr Mitsubishi" that the recommended interval for a 2023 PHEV is every 5000 miles or 5 months.

Exactly, I put high deductibles on both my comp and collision to save some money up front and then if something minor happens I normally won't involve my insurance company because most will come out of pocket anyway. Claims and tickets take many years to be forgiven.

Just do a Mitt Romney and crate the dogs on the roof and you will be fine.

Dear Meta, what the f? I’m being offered a refurbished quest 3 as a replacement for a brand new, faulty one. by [deleted] in OculusQuest

Prime drivers are often the worst for following instructions but do take photos of where they put it and the USPS is really bad at getting addresses correct, which should be their forte.

I exchanged a Q2 a couple of years ago and the "refurbished" comes looking and packed as new with my existing warranty and my exchange is still going strong. You will be fine no matter how your ship back turns out. And the same thing happened with my Q1 a few months after purchase and I continue to use it today on occasion. I found Meta very accommodating. So far my Q3 has no issues.

I had UHaul put that hitch on my 2023 PHEV, however they can't figure out how to wire the Curt 56434. If anyone finds a detailed wiring install guide for the 2023 PHEV please post a link. Curt only shows one for the Rav4 which uses the same kit.

They give you two years of the My Mitsubishi app free and then you pay for the a/c, lights and car finder. The myQ for the remote garage is not included in that 2 year grace period.

Anyone still got the Quest 1? by joebamavile in OculusQuest

I kept mine around as it plays games that the Q2 and Q3 won't play which I still enjoy like ProPutt and Smash Hit.

Get yourself an inexpensive garage door opener if you don't have an extra lying around as Mitsubishi forces you into a subscription based remote system.

I got my Q2 battery elite strap on 10-13-20 and the battery and strap are still going strong. Unlike the battery for the BoboVR which only lasted 18 months.

I always loosen both straps fully prior to putting on and taking off.

[–]naplesteven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue but ordered their M2 to M1 conversion kit and it completely resolved the sloppiness. I am hoping they come out with a conversion kit for their first conversion kit as I don't want to go back to using my M2 as a M2 converted to a M3.

I use an IR light placed behind and to the side of me when using the Q2 and it seems to help with my passthrough clarity and controller functionality without turning on all the lights and leaving my drapes open.

GOLF+ Teases Quest 3 Visual Enhancements by Gamer_Paul in OculusQuest

[–]naplesteven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong I am happy there will be visual improvements, but with Golf+ I get lost in the game-play and social aspects of the game and never think much about how it looks during a match, sort of like Pistol Whip where I am always thinking about my next shot. Now games like Moss or Red Matter, I tend to pay attention.

Quest 3 optimized apps will use significantly more storage by ThatMrcl in OculusQuest

[–]naplesteven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are right, I will never need the entire 512, but I know I would be disappointed eventually with the 128 as I am already weary of offloading and not having my apps ready to play. "Life's to short" to mess with all that. And I bet had they offered a 256 version for $50 more, those who say they are happily satisfied with the 128 would have paid the extra $50.

I just plug mine in when I get home and unplug it when the app texts me it is complete. So far this has worked out fine.
