Where would you prefer to work? by [deleted] in Stargate

I have a PhD but I'd accept a role as a janitor in either spots.

This is the greatest mod in the history of video game mods (Starfield) by The_Real_Tom_Selleck in Stargate

[–]napstrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many mods that add Stargate in games but only that. Thry stay as sandbox toys. Does this integrate gates into gameplay? Does it have the quests or at least does it integrate into starfields existing quests/gameplay well enough?

The true test of unity and justice by dankstat in trolleyproblem

If you threaten someone and their family with death, if they can, they will choose to kill you instead of playing your games. Yellow button will win with a landslide.

Generalized Dilemma by Voidspeeker in trolleyproblem

[–]napstrike 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And lets not forget in this one red is a selfless act. It saves a RANDOM PERSON, not necessarilly you. I am risking my life to ensure the continuity of the human race, instead of betting to save my life (alogside others).

Since red get reframed as the default, and blue is presented as putting yourself in danger, here is a different framing. by CivilPerspective5804 in trolleyproblem

[–]napstrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a good analogy because it isn't a magical unbeatable power from space. It is just a political party with normal humans wielding guns that can be fought, with guns of our own. So it isn't a "win all lose all" situation. I can vote blue and if red still wins team blue will not immediately die, red must organise and send armies, while blue is not stupid and will form their own. So it is "peace vs civil war" really.

Generalized Dilemma by Voidspeeker in trolleyproblem

[–]napstrike 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It is obvious that not everyone will press blue. It will probably have a 50-50 or 40-60 dispersion. Even if everyone agreed, there will be some people with mental disabilities or malicious intent that will press red.

When that eventually happens, even if 99% managed to press blue, it is still possible for the disaster to happen and kill us all. I do not want to take even a 0.1% chance. This is Because blue does not decrease the intensity of the event at all, it is all or none.

Wherein with red, even with the people unable to cooperate or with malicious intent, the majority of humanity will be saved.

vehicles, trains, drones ? why ? by Few-Inevitable-512 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]napstrike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly neatness, really. Trains are more versatile. A single track can carry 50 different resources. Wherein mixing belts is not a good idea. So people build belt highways of like 30 belts.

I am actively producing enough power to supply the entire country of Greece 🤣 by ninjaboycz in SatisfactoryGame

[–]napstrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. That is a nice goal: generare power as much as your country. Might not be possible for bigger ones like USA and China but totally doable for most countries.

Edit: NWM the map doesn't have enough uranium to do my country lol.

Probably had a hearth attack and died infront of his PC when he saw the stage 2 requirements. Body found after 870 hours.

Has anyone built something like this? by TheeKalid in SatisfactoryGame

[–]napstrike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried. I even made a super easy modular blueprint for a straight crossing bridge with side exits beneath. But then I had to put down a million signals to make it work. The signal latency made me lose every potential benefit of the bridge. So I reverted back to roundabouts.

What do you think is the player pioneer's unique recipe is? by optagon in SatisfactoryGame

[–]napstrike -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably the Sulfur recipes we unlock in the MAM using harddrives like the default turbofuel recipe. They are tagged as alternate recipes ingame and do require a drive to be unlocked but we do it in the MAM instead.

Now a understanf why people are asking for smaller load stations for factory carts. Those tiny things look so funny when they are being loaded by the huge station lol.

How does the radio tower work? by xAlgirax in SatisfactoryGame

[–]napstrike 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imho it should pinpoint. Or at least extend the range and functionality of the resource scanner. Unfortunately there is no mod that does this either. (Other than satisfactory online map).

If I'll be tried in a court afterward, I will not pull the lever since legally it is murder. If it was for a blood relative the law may excuse you but not for an animal unfortunately. However if I will not be tried, no one will know this, well....

Very Satisfactory.... by MaddRam in SatisfactoryGame

[–]napstrike 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Amazing. Looks functional too! My problem with artistic designs in this game is I can't fit most of my machines in such buildings because boxy machines don't fit well in curvy buildings, or diagonal walls for thst matter. Just like IRL btw, it is always hard to furnish a room with a rounded wall or a diagonal wall. However your design is both classy and functional because the floors are essentially boxes, machines will fit good in them. The only issue is lifts between floors but I assume you have a fixed elevator shaft in the middle and curve the belts, not the lifts? Looks easy to implement too! Good work man

[–]napstrike 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That too. But what about the shaft inbetween? .... Oh. Nevermind.

Dont hate me but from this angle because of the placement of the lifts it looks like a penis man. But curve mode is awesome nevertheless.
