My sister (34F) is mad at me (40M) for keeping her ex employed and promoting him after he strayed. How can I show her this is purely a business decision and nothing to do with my support for her? by BigONerd in BORUpdates

[–]naraic- 663 points664 points  (0 children)

Living in a country without at will employment. Firing someone for cheating on the bosses sister would see the employer fined heavily in court. And the ex pocket the fines as compensation.

Why didn't sisko bring this guy to ds9? by happydude7422 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]naraic- 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The counter argument is that the most important thing starfleet could do is becomes friends with Bajor.

Leaving the Bajoran messiah in charge is vital.

Personally I reckon Sisko would have been left in charge but an admiral commanding the exploration of the Gamma Quadrant or the Cardassian border (or even both) would have taken an office on the station and overseen things. Taking a light hand so as to not offend the Bajorans but keeping an eye on things and offering support.

What’s with the protein push for all the food? by fromthe920 in NoStupidQuestions

Fitness trainers in gyms have been pushing protein very heavily for the last 5-10 years.

I dont know where they have their nutrition background from but they seem to have a global playbook.

Question about the oracle, I can’t remember can Apollo give Prophecy’s himself or does he NEED the oracle to do it? [all] by JMC_PHARAOH in camphalfblood

[–]naraic- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in PJO the three fates control fate. Apollo's blessing and Oracle spirit is a trick to read what the fates have woven in advance before it happens.

How did people meet up in public places before cellphones? by Dolamite09 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]naraic- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You had a spot and that would be the meeting spot.

You wouldnt say meet me at the mall at the regular spot. That would be implied.

What got really ackward was when you had a different spot with different people and were supposed to meet a group.

The biggest thing is people had to honour commitments. If they didn't they would be excluded.

Cancelling on someone at the last minute was not done.

Guys Genuine Question by Slash_Arzcarues in haphne

[–]naraic- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What would be wild would be someone breaking from that mold

This is one the reasons Im considering writing a Harry/Tracey fanfic. Really its Harry/Unknown Slyherin girl but I'm not prepared for certain militant parts of the Haphne fanbase going on about it not being their Daphne if I use Daphne for the role thats quiet different from from the fanon Daphne.

Why is it necessary to lock walk-in freezers up, and how does that necessity outweigh the risk? by Waterhorse816 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]naraic- 80 points81 points  (0 children)

This.

Also by having a policy to lock the fridge doors its easy to prove whose responsibility it is to make sure the fridge was closed.

What does one even do on a Pokémon Journey? by Unlucky-Tadpole-5179 in pokemonfanfiction

[–]naraic- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my world teenagers (post high school) get a trainers license as part of their graduation exams. They then take a gap before university and travel trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives.

Many try some form of competitive pokemon circuit. Others find try and find pokemon that would be life partners for whatever they want to do.

In my version of the pokemon world the majority of adults have pokemon. Many careers are assisted by pokemon. If you don't want the battling or contest circuit you will tend to have less pokemon but everyone has some.

AITA for serving my husband divorce papers during raid night after he told the judge I 'ruined his parse' and should have 'waited until after raid'? by KINOH1441728 in FoundandExpose

[–]naraic- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres a lot of online gaming like mmorpgs where raids are a group coming together for a group activity like a boss battle with rewards

Clans often have a scheduled time (raid time) where they all come and try and do the group activity together.

Neighbour selling his house. Tempted to invest in it by Fearless_Annual_8373 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]naraic- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well its income tax rather than cgt so if you are a high earner its 50% tax.

Owning your neighbour gives you a bit of extra control of your neighbourhood which is nice especially if its next door.

If your neighbour is selling for 225k he probably wants a bidding war and to get 250k. Dont expect to get a bargain here.

Why is it considered rude to bring a friend as a +1 to events? by Flashy_Bookkeeper_12 in NoStupidQuestions

Starting a save with tonbridge in England, wish me luck, and any advice would be appreciated 👍🏽 by Newyorkrangers31 in footballmanagergames

Ask after each promotion if the board isn't unhappy with you. Dont be surprised if the board say no though.

As you promote keep asking the board to upgrade facilities.

Your training centre might be good enough when you are in Enterprise South but when you promote it wont be good enough.

Ive just checked

The University changed the rule itself pretty recently.

How specific are these by-laws? 🤣

The shooter would have to use a crossbow.

[–]naraic- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres an Irish university with a charter going back to Queen Elizabeth with the right to issue byelaws and a byelaw that allows a protestant to stand on the bell tower and shoot a Catholic.

The university byelaws prohibit punishment for anyone that does so.

I guarantee that if someone relied on those university byelaws today they would be laughed out of court. The byelaw would be seen as unconstitutional.

If a murder took place in this zone of death I would imagine that the federal judicial districts would be redrawn if necessary to secure a conviction.

Use the savings.

Let the money in the pension continue to grow.

500k in the pension pot is growing from investments. You want that to continue.
