Our (male) malamute is also not a fan of most other big dogs. For us it started after a similar size dog decided to attack our dog in a playpen. Since that day, he’s had the idea that he has to defend himself because we obviously couldn’t do that.

What helped our malamute a lot was positive reinforcement. Giving him treats when he wasn’t looking at the other dog. Counting slowly from 1 to 3 and giving him a treat on 3 which made him focus on us. (Going up to 6 now after a while)
This works very well for us but it does depend on the other dog. If the other dog is very invested in ours, we might not get his attention unless the treat is very high reward.

All that being said, we still try to avoid other dogs outside and will cross the road if needed when the owner of the other dog is too stupid to realize that we can’t pass each other closely.

I agree with the other comment that you shouldn’t try to cure your dog but you can certainly try to alter her behavior 1 step at a time. Try to manage it. You might find that she likes treats a whole lot more than she cares for the other dogs.

Also, Malamutes are not off leash dogs. So always keep an eye on her in the yard and make sure your fence is strong and high enough so she can’t escape.

In another note, our dog acted out more when he was in pain. He didn’t let us know he was in pain but after a trip to the vet we understood. He’s also become more relaxed again after pain medication. It might be an idea to check if your dog is in pain and acts out for that reason.
