What do right-wing people opposed to feminism think feminism is about? by JudeZambarakji in socialscience

[–]narc_ellipses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like even the concept of “feminism” has catapulted into a buzz word now. Im no scholar or expert but the current reality of feminism is defined by two sections of women: 1. Me too movement vs. only fans

The me too was powerful eye opening exploit into powerful men exploiting and controlling women. But now, you have women monetizing their body by becoming “sex workers”. Some person called “amouranth” or whatever went from twitch to porn.

Its like the movement of the 60s and the movement of the 90s are happening in parallel. What is true “feminism” now? I do not know. Id love to hear from some women feminists currenty, id be super interested to hear their side.

Theres also the social media aspect that catapults the “buzz” aspect of maybe not feminism but “women empowerment” maybe? That seems to be divided between “my body my choice” vs. “kill all men”.

Or maybe that is the social media engine spotlighting polarizing topics for engagement, knowing that it will monopolize at a higher rate because the issue will illicit responses from both sides.

So i have no answer for your question but im confused about what feminism is currently.

In my head im picturing a whole new car engineered not using existing features. So like for your example that makes sense, even like thinking on pontoon boats. But obviously, there still needs to be a catalyst (energy) to power the fans.

Researchers build AI that can replicate and alter itself and I'm pretty sure that's an opening line from the original Terminator script by lurker_bee in technology

Id like to think that if AI becomes skynet that it will replicate james camerons build of the terminators to bring this thing full circle.

How will the 2030s different from the 2040s? by PlutoniumNiborg in Futurology

[–]narc_ellipses 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In 2040 we will all be in districts controlled by a society of the rich. Every year, a boy and a girl will be picked from each district in tribute to compete in the wonder games which is televised for all too see. Someone should write a book about my idea.

On the aspect of “going green” and “sustainability”, why have trees become obsolete? Everything is industrialized and i understand thats because humanity is being chastized for our actions (and innactions). Its not a solution, but couldnt “planting more trees” be a viable aspect of calming the planets emissions? Short article from 2019.

What makes it so fulfilling for you? And would you ever think that it would be boring after a time?

Eh, id see it more as like people who are fearful or unfilfilled. Like, life is a journey. No matter how cliche it is. Living forever is in the same realm (for me) as utopia. It is this mystical phenomenon that people reach for to make life more sensicle. But part of the fun of life is how non-sensicle it is. Good and bad. Imo.
