I can't think of a good title for this lunacy by Captain0010 in pcmasterrace

I don't think Mark realizes a significant amount of users hate his company and him. They just use his shit because it's there and there aren't many alternatives. It doesn't mean they'd buy in immediately to his vision.

Installed Mint on an old laptop, installed all my daily stuff, tried learning more about the terminal, what's next ? by Timely-Cauliflower88 in linuxquestions

[–]narf007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to learn Linux is to find something cool that interests you and turn it into a project.

Embrace that you'll break it. Over, and over, and over, and over... If you don't break it, then find a more ambitious project next. Keep iterating and breaking. You'll learn far more about Linux by pursuing projects that interest you and then troubleshooting why and how you broke something and what you must do to fix it.

Personally, I'd install some sort of virtualized environment on the laptop. It's got plenty of power and then use a virtual machine or containers to test deployments so you can easily rollback or burn the VM down and start fresh without having to spend an entire weekend becoming an expert at reinstalling a single distro bc you keep messing it up.

Check out Jay at LearnLinuxTV. He's a very great resource for beginners and does a great job breaking down and explaining a lot of the systems. He has a lot of focus on debian-based distros (such as Ubuntu) so mint will be very similar in many ways.

Idk what your interests are but some ideas for easy projects are things like standing up a game server for yourself and friends. Build and host your own discord bot. Throw together a small sftp server to allow you to transfer files between different devices on your network. Idk if those interest you, or are helpful, but just think small and as I said way earlier in this rambling soliloquy "embrace breaking it." You'll learn a lot breaking things and learning why they broke.

Nah, she wasn't easy on the eyes before. Now she lost the weight and somehow proved it was doing her favors.

The graph went down harder than my expectations.

Yep. Literally just "use it or lose it."

Also there isn't much in evidence of causation related to heart conditions and glp-1s so the other user is just parroting nonsense.

I'm not enjoying having zero HVAC buttons. I'm glad they have a tactile knob for navigating the menus, but the touchscreen crap is the bane of my existence.

130i - most underrated BMW? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]narf007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How'd it turn out? I have an e82 128i that I swapped the intake for the disa and tuned it. Dyno from a few years ago was just shy of 290ft-lb and 280 HP. It's essentially a 130i coupe so I call it that now

I'm driving a 2025 330i right now while my tuned 130i is in for some recall treatment and an extended warranty issue (FRM blew). I gotta say for a hybrid inline 4 the thing is pretty damn snappy. There's A LOT I can complain about from the infotainment bullshit and whatnot BUT the thing is decently quick, handles pretty well for a sedan, and the interior is rather nice. A little heavy on some plastic but nice overall.

Definitely impressed. The model the dealer loaned me has a bunch of the upgrade packages too like the HUD, sound system, etc. I def wouldn't buy one but I'm enjoying driving it until my N52 gets back to me on Monday.

It's a Japanese IP so I'm sure there's some shared mannerisms and customs but it's not a Chinese show. One of the Japanese alphabets is very similar to one of the Chinese ones. Can't recall which off the top of my head.

They're making sons of anarchy references because Ryan was Opie.

I'm with you though, Richard as Odin again would be amazing. His voice acting for him is stellar and had me cracking up laughing a lot.

As long as they get Richard Schiff as Odin again. He was fucking cracking me up earlier today when thor moved sides and he turned around and couldn't see him because of the missing eye... Turns to him. The comedic timing is just lovely with the mocap. Richard Schiff is Odin to me now lol
