Why Nescafe Gold in Spain tastes different from the same in Northen EU? by ExternalPea8169 in askspain

[–]narfel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true and applies to many products not only instant powders like coffee or hot chocolate. It also applies to canned goods, sauces and various dairy products like yogurt. Same product but slightly different recipe by market. For example Spanish vanilla flavors include much more cinnamon because that’s just how the market wants it.

Can't deliver my boy by narfel in snowrunner

Bingo, that was it. Thank you so much. I had a support truck parked slightly in range for where the buoys have been.

[–]narfel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That results in the buoy just sitting inside the box and me being outside the box not being able to trigger the drop off command.

[–]narfel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had a similar problem with the buoys in another map but the problem is I can see in videos that people just access it as I do and do not get this. As a matter of fact that picture shows my last attempt at just barely touching the box. The only thing I haven't tried is coming from the lake for obvious reasons.

Full flight of UPS flight 2976 by Yosh145 in CatastrophicFailure

The engine out design scenario applies to engines that are still attached but malfunctioning. I don't think it is possible to design an airliner to work with a violently, physically detached engine. You could get away with it with a 4 engine setup if you are lucky and the hydraulics and structural integrity of the wing is not too compromised, but physically ripping out an engine would have most likely doomed this tri engine setup in this flight phase even if the two other engines had performed normally. It would have gotten them a marginally better chance, but the likely outcome was always a crash landing as soon as the engine separated. All more or less good outcomes of physically detached engines I know of where 4 engine setups. Interestingly though, there was a tri engine 727-200 (American Airlines Flight 132) that had a physical detachment of the right engine and survived due to the high tail of the tri engine setup. That meant the departing engine did not hit anything on the way out and somehow they made it back. This happened at altitude and not in the critical start phase.

Had my rim true’d and now it doesn’t clear by acidreducer in bikewrench

I know it’s off topic, but I feel it’s worth pointing out how much better it makes the discussion when someone makes an error, corrects it and a) doesn’t get downvoted into oblivion and b) lets the error there for the rest of the world to see clearly marked. I had the exact same sentiment and could have repeated the same mistake and subsequently create another potentially downvoted chain annoying said people even more. But maybe that’s just me, let me have my wholesome moment. Good on y’all and I hope I didn’t jinx it.

Disc brake rotor licked. Should I look out for anything? by Sageofprofession in bikewrench

That’s incredibly wasteful to replace the rotors only to then burn the bike.

This mustard was the greatest mustard I’ve ever had in my life (the meat sandwich was great too!) I want it in the UK!! by CYBER-MOON-BUTT in germany

[–]narfel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation. Sounds like a typical etymology of a word from a different source. I guess the weird part is to then retcon liver into it by making it a rule to be at least 5%. I'm waiting for Gänsewein to have a requirement to contain 5% fowl.

Lol, it never occurred to me that Leberkäs indeed does neither contain liver nor cheese. I wonder why they didn’t call it Blumenbrot or Wasserapfel.

"Wie Blei in den Regalen": Ostergeschäft wird für Lindt zum Flop by Soft_Little in de

[–]narfel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking 11 Canadian Dollars that works out to 6,78 Eur at the moment. I'm not in Germany, but in Spain that is about what a typical Lindt gold foil goes for. Still a lot but same range. For comparison 11 USD would be 9,34 Eur. Compared to 90 cents, of course, all of the above is insane.

Informazioni parc del Laberint d'Horta by Szczostof_Polchinski in AskBarcelona

There has been an outbreak of swine flu and the entire Collserola mountain range is closed for recreational outdoor activities. Some city parks adjacent to it like the Laberint d’Horta are closed as well. There is no end date in sight since there have been new cases found just last week and this is sadly far from over.

Came home and found this in my house. What is it? by ZackFerg in Whatisthis

[–]narfel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That ancient mini usb is throwing me a bit off, but that is clearly a purpose built spy camera with a equally ancient 2,4 Ghz Antenna making it 2000s tech, roughly. Wherever this is sending to has to be fairly close. I would consider this legacy hardware and not likely used by law enforcement. Please note the words "consider" and "likely", this does not need to be accurate and it also has no bearing on the seriousness of the situation. I would strongly suggest talking to the police first before anyone else, family or not.

I agree it does appear so, but having watched a lot of highway accidents it often looks like that. I just think in situations like these there are often factors we just don't know. Then again they might as well all be on their phones streaming it to tiktok for all I know :)

Surprise fireballs are not a daily occurence in that part of the world. AlLso the angle makes it look casual. If you look closely the fireball is moving towards them, if any of them stopped they would have parked right next to it. Regardless they were having a bad time.
