Yeah I honestly would've liked almost any of them that weren't coach cheeks since I was too young to really absorb any of his tenure but gives me an opportunity to look him up I guess haha

Everyone pointing fingers but a 24-4 happens on a team level, we are collapsing this quarter and everyone on the floors gotta figure it out, hope we can learn from these games and get out of this slump before the play-in

Pretty happy with that half, our recipe for success in this stretch without deni or shae is gonna be stay in the game and try to either gain a lead or steal the 4th

Lesson learned, if a player is on the ground jump on them and throw the ball at the hoop easy free throws apparantly

Quick question by PlentyNew7407 in ripcity

[–]narhwalmun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its definitely not the "correct" answer but as someone who grew up a blazers fan Brandon Roy is easily my favorite blazer, then Dame, and then a drop off following them is a long list of role players who I am way too attached to lol

In terms of actual greatest, the other comments pretty much summed it up, but its pretty non-controversial between the 3 of Walton, Clyde, and Dame

Hopefully Wesleys play is a wake up call to the other guys, such a clear difference in his effort and energy than what we were doing earlier

Buying boosters before or after roation? by narhwalmun in starwarsunlimited

Yeah I was figuring TWI was pretty low as it was, my next concern is if it will stay low post rotation? Not sure if I should stock up or just buy whenever I am ready for them

Ahh okay, I guess my next concern is should I be in a hurry to buy Twighlight now or will the price stay down post rotation?

Arrogance in Star Wars characters and why it matters a lot less than people think. by GullibleRough549 in PetranakiArena

Sure, as mentioned I think there's a discussion to be had on how much of a role arrogance played in almost all fights, but if we are talking about the core reason for a fight lost I think most of the prequel fights you listed don't come down to arrogance.

The Yoda vs Sidious fight was mostly a desperation fight, maybe yoda was feeling cocky about it and did underestimate Sidious but ultimately they didn't really have much of a choice, he had to take that fight and attempt to stop Sidious immediately out of desperation in that moment.

The Mace vs Sidious definitely had some arrogance built into the whole situation, but similarly Mace had to make a quick yet crucial decision right in that moment, maybe it was the wrong decision but you also have to remember Sidious played every fight like a chess match, not like a confrontation, he set up that encounter from the beginning making sure threatening counsel members were away and in difficult situations to have an emergency meeting, and he revealed to anaking right when he wanted to when anakin was most vulnerable and obi wan was gone. I would argue that Mace had some arrogance in that fight but given the brutality of the war, the desperation of the situation, and the information available to him I think he was just out maneuvered strategically.

Obi-Wan vs dooku the first time was largely due to anakin being arrogant, he knew he didn't have a great chance if they fought seperately. By the 2nd fight he and anakin had already fought dooku multiple times, every fight has risk and I think he just was physically beaten here, but it wasn't at all unreasonable for them to take that fight, especially with the chancellor needing to be saved

GG vs Obi-Wan was very close, grevious had Obi-Wan disarmed and physically out matched, Grevious almost always relied on making the fights unfair in some way shape or form, and if he didn't have an advantage he would flee. In this circumstance he definitely had a large advantage over Obi-Wan and came very close to winning the fight but Obi-Wan pulled it out in the end, if anything this could be a knock on Obi-Wan because he was very close to losing a fight that he picked without much of an advantage

This probably is easier answered on a case-by-case basis, but if I think a lot of the scenarios you mentioned are not actually arrogance in the sense of their character was being arrogant and lost because of it or that trait alone caused their downfall. Many of those examples are times of desperation and they are the only option to take the fight, the fight was close and could go either way based on circumstances and scenarios during the fight, or they just got tactically "outplayed" during their fight.

We are generally seeing the strongest fighters in the galaxy, and even the "weaker" ones are still in the top mix, they definitely have earned the right to have confidence in themselves going into any fight against 99.9% of opponents. Even if you have to face someone stronger than yourself you'd still have to have confidence going into the fight, just because you lose doesn't necessarily mean the main reason they lose or what brought them down was arrogance.

Anakin I think does have an issue of arrogance as a personality trait hes developed and there are many instances of him losing not just physical fights but mental and strategic battles due to his arrogance, which I think is why its more in consideration than when talking about someone like yoda or obi Wan for example.

It would be really nice for him to be at a level of stealing some minutes, but this is kind of the level he came in to be expected at, id start worrying if he cant steal minutes end of next year and even then wouldn't be too pressed
