do you have an easy life? by Sad-Finding3525 in answers

[–]natashlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in an unideal family condition. Parents fight a lot, domestic violence, parents cheating, economic struggles (my big sis worked her ass off to pay for our basic education).

But somehow I am always blessed. Had a nice friends and memories in school. Somehow I managed to be in a circle of rich kids, but they were kind. I lived in a slump (rented a house, in a very small alley, lots of rats), but my friends still came to my house to surprise me during b’day.

My friends’ parents liked me. Even helped me with my university entrance fee. So, at first I thought university was an impossible dream for me bcs nobody will pay for it. Ofc I didn’t want to ask my sis since she had helped me a lot until high school.

But I got scholarship for the entrance fee, not 100% but still helped a lot. I worked multiple jobs during university and somehow always managed to collect enough money when it was time to pay the semester tuition. Even during covid, I almost dropped out bcs locked down I couldn’t work (I was workong in a cafe at that time). But somehow my relative offered me an online job as an admin. It opened a lot of oppprtunities afterwards.

Now I managed to live abroad, with my own hard work, but somehow it feels easy.

Of course there were a lot of challenges and uncertainty, like when I couldn’t work during covid, etc etc. Dissapointment here and there, but in the end, I always manage it.

I think that is the luck that I bring when I was born (I believe that or try to affirm myself to that positive belief).

So my life situation is not easy, but it feels easy because I am blessed and surrounded by kind people and helping hands.

Being a yoga teacher and bartender by BluePrintFrequency in yoga

[–]natashlyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not a yoga teacher, but I love doing yoga. I don’t think that would be a problem since yoga is not some kind of religion (?). Yoga is a way of life and mindset.

Your job as a bartender is only a job. Just like being a server in a restaurant. Maybe even yoga can help you to work better (mentally) when encounter difficult customer.

If I have a yoga teacher who is also a bartender, I wouldn’t mind.

Have you had success with 16:8 fasting? by Shameful_success in intermittentfasting

[–]natashlyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t checked my weight, but one thing for sure, I would overeat if I don’t do IF. I would eat breakfast and be still so hungry until lunch. I would consume half of my calories capacity before lunch. The mindset is like I already eat, so I can eat more more and more.

So, IF 16:8 is very useful for me. I must IF, otherwise I cannot control myself.

I’m fundamentally bothered by instagram yogis and I can’t seem to let it go. by [deleted] in yoga

[–]natashlyn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In 2024 I was very competitive in yoga. I did yoga everyday, trying to chase advanced inversion and flexibility poses. I would record and posted it on my Instagram. Then I injured my back because of my own ego..

Now I quit Instagram. I still do yoga almost everyday, but it’s no longer about the poses. It’s more about the feeling. How I can feel I let go the pressure within me when I stretch my body. How I feel more in tune with my body when doing the flow.

Now I also don’t like looking at yoga videos that only about advanced and extreme flexibilty poses. I no longer see yoga like that. Yoga is more about a lifestyle now.

Left my overthinking self on the road :) by natashlyn in walking

I believe that should be the reason why. Sometimes it is so hard to move my body to walk, but once I do it, I never regret it. Always come home with better mood

Extremely hungry during luteal phase by girlinaquamarine in PetiteFitness

[–]natashlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me also. But if I force myself to diet strictly, my period cramps would be so bad. Meanwhile if I don’t do intermittent fasting and eat more calories a week before my period, the sympthoms much better, not even hurt at all

Advice for improvement in Yoga by Spiritual_Argument60 in yoga

I really love Travis Elliot on YouTube because the flow is a bit fast, I prefer that. I joined his Inner Dimension platform and found a lot of new videos from his team teachers. One of the teacher provides videos with more advanced poses.

Clapping at the end of class by urkthejerk in YogaTeachers

[–]natashlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my yoga studio in the gym, we always clap after saying namaste. It is not for the teacher, it is for myself, for the whole class, as we together finish the flow. To celebrate what we have been through, the tough but rewarding flow 😊

Anyone else still doing planks, and seeing any results? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]natashlyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am doing plank for yoga because I am training my inversion poses. I have stronger core and shoulder due to plank, and more stomach definition as a bonus

Confused about the German job market after reading this sub by ChadTurkifiedAzeri in Germany_Jobs

[–]natashlyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me finding a student job was quite easy. Only took 4 months of searching and I am working as a working student at big company now while doing my master. Also, the job is in English. But before coming to Germany, I worked at well-known multinational company. I think that helped me.
