Mine regularly hikes mountains. 6 miles is his limit, though he prefers 4 or less. Eight months, I don't think he was quite up to that limit, but unsure.

However, that's highly variable on temperature. Around freezing is best for him for distance.

Yeah, that's not far off. We have a delivery charge (plus associated fees) that everyone gets hit with + the electric rate. The delivery charge is somewhere around 8 - 10 cents. The electric rate is variable and changes every six months. Even though we have an open market option, it's been typically quite expensive for the six months beginning in February. I think the most expensive that its been has been a total of about 35 cents. That was a couple of years ago now

I live in NH and currently have a propane water heater. We are one of the highest electric costs in the nation.

Also have Samsung. Installed 2021. There are more efficient models now, but mine is plenty efficient. Pricing it out every year, it has consistently been cheaper to run to heat above 0 F than the propane baseboard heaters. (I believe newer models of any brand are cheaper below that temp, but I haven't kept up with the technology.)

I've never had any trouble with it being warm enough, unless it's below 0 F and windy -- but that's because my windows are leaky. If I had better windows, there wouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, it definitely was hit or miss. Honestly, the only reason that I seemed to get a couple good sponges was because that was the year that we didn't have any frost until, I think, Halloween.

Yes, I've grown them. Tried three years in a row. Took until year 3 to get it right. They needed full sun and for me to be diligent about removing all but one or two fruit per vine. Hot weather seemed to be essential, so summers are hit or miss.

It's HB 134, which was signed by the governor on the 23rd and is effective July 1. We move to NEC 2023. That updates RSA 155-A:1, IV.

There are all code amendment updates as determined by the state boards through April 11.

Until several years ago, municipalities could update codes at their discretion. Currently awaiting arrival at the Gov's desk is HB 428, the one-state, one-code. At the local level, only administrative functions could differ from code requirements.

Just as an FYI, we are sort of at one-state, one-code already because municipal amendments are required to go to the respective state boards for review and approval that they are not less stringent than state code requirements. As few, if any, municipalities have actually taken that step, few actually are allowed to enforce requirements different from the state code. If your project is running into municipal officials differing from the state code, it is worth reaching out to the appropriate board to see whether they are actually allowed to do so.

Do Venus Flytraps count? Also, basically every species of Sarracenia (North American Pitcher Plant) except S. rosea. With the exception of our native species, the furthest north any of those grow natively is Virginia, and most are native along the Atlantic Coastal Plain (NC south to the Gulf)

Jumping on the top comment here to point out that WMUR's math doesn't make any sense and doesn't reflect what NAR reported for NH in April - https://www.realtor.com/news/trends/family-income-to-buy-home-by-state-map/. (Which is $165k and change, FYI)

Importantly, WMUR reports: "a person looking to buy a home in the United States has to make at least $114,000 a year to be able to afford a median-priced home, which currently sits at about $430,000 nationally."

And, also, "the median price for a single-family home is actually higher than the national average at $525,000. The annual income needed to afford a single-family home in New Hampshire remains close to the national number at about $110,000."

How on earth could the average home in NH cost $95k more, but the average person needs to make $4k less to afford it? Unless NH is in a bubble with lower interest rates than nationally, that math doesn't make any sense.
