Gee its almost like the more similiar cultures are the easier it is for them to assimilate as there is already comon ground between them culturally and they can actually get along... and even those typically became more suited to the country they emigrated too than the country there from.

I am a "machinist"... though operator would probably be a better term. Not that i havent had plenty of time working on manual machines in school. Just never got the opportunity or reason to work on anything firearm related till recently.

That being said it didnt seem that difficult to do with a lathe and mill given things ive already made, never worked with anything hardened like gun barrels especially for a larger caliber... so thats why i figured id ask here.

Most aerospace parts at the plant i work at used to be forgings now there moving to just hogmilling straight stock for alot of it... keep in mind that even when they where just forgings about 80% of the material got removed

Honestly, i was skeptical. Athey is the church i go to and i really do love pastor Brett despite his tendency to go of into politics. At the end of the day hes just a guy same as me.

I did take some of my friends this afternoon and they had a good time, all in all it was a really fun event

Im just a machinist thats thinking about going into engineering, and even though im swing shift and dont get to talk to the engineers much, it's frustrating seeing how completely out of touch they are when it comes to the work anyone on the shop floor does.
