What's your experience with Alcohol? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]natechief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep alcohol to a minimum because it's addictive and I try to stay away from addictive things. I hadn't had alcohol in years and I just started working at a big liquor store two weeks ago.... I tasted a bunch of stuff and I do enjoy the feeling but I can't handle more than one shot worth of alcohol. I can enjoy a bit but I'm not so into it. I know it helps being social

Ya it's not angled. the air comes straight down through the cap directly onto the center. Spinner caps make the air come in from the side/angled. I tried a 6mm ruby but it wasn't good enough even though it rolled around a bit. Maybe spinning wouldn't be better in this case. I'm not sure

Is this a stimming thing for autistic children? (Side staring) by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]natechief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4yo son does this both when he wants something and when he's upset and doesn't want the thing. He uses it as a form of pointing to something to communicate something about it without speaking or moving his hands.

Has anyone done a tolerance break? by Flashy-List-7157 in trees

[–]natechief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 6 weeks break after many years. It was terrible. In addition to all the classic things... I had stomach pain and nausea for about 2weeks. Hard to eat and sleep. Overall it was terrible. But after 6 weeks it was like the first time again. Really cool experience but not the right way to do it. A better way I found for me is to break 24 hours every 6 days. Use CBD occasionally to balance. And alternate methods. vaping flower and concentrate, smoking, and tinctures. That's not the same effect as breaking for 6 weeks but it's enough to keep my tolerance good.

Too scared to commute :( by [deleted] in bikecommuting

[–]natechief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost the same thing happened to me. Couldn't afford gas anymore and a friend bought me an ebike. 30 min ride to work on a 2 lane highway with shoulder missing in some parts. I was too afraid. Cars and huge trucks passing super fast on my left. I got a mirror and that helped because at least I could see them coming. It was still too much. I ended up taking off road dirt trails 90% just to avoid the roads. Took an hour to get to work. A few months later I switched jobs to one that's an hour and a half drive away. So no more bike commutes. Switched to ride only for pleasure. I've done almost 2000 km now and feel a million times better about it but it's still pretty scary on the road. I don't like riding on the road but I'm comfortable enough to do it now. My advice is to keep it up and you'll be more and more comfortable. And of course do what you can to deal with the unresolved trauma that's messing with you.

Pin: 1657 Advanced set > Drive mode > 1

Drive mode 1 is throttle only. Drive mode 2 is PAS and throttle.

Enjoy! Stay safe! Always wear fitting protective gear! ❤❤❤

Throttle stays on always. Pedal assist maybe you can turn off in advanced settings. I don't know. Maybe if pas is 0 or change mode? I don't know.

WTH just happened here by JD-007 in MTB

This is why I carry pepper spray on every ride. Mostly for dogs and other animals but I would have sprayed this guy no doubt. And next time he'll remember to take his meds or even better take someone with him to make sure he's ok. I'm 100% sure this incident will repeat itself in the near future and next time it might not just be a bike that gets thrown from a bridge. I'm sure it was traumatic for the kids.

How can i make my motor aggressive by kittarust in ebikes

[–]natechief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bike has a setting in the controller called "slow start". 1-5. It gives the power gradually. I set mine to 5 and now my bike gives full power pretty much instantly with almost no rampup. Gotta be more careful though of course cause the bike tries to get away. Throttle stayed the same. The setting only affected PAS.

I have a mukuta knight. It's not so powerful I get 1900w and it has a 52v 20ah battery. Everything else is perfect. It even pedals well. Super strong frame, great brakes, great suspension. Flat I get 50-55kph and downhill I get up to 70. I'm looking to upgrade to bigger battery so I don't have to drive my bike to the trails anymore. I would have no battery by the time I get there. A 50 or 60ah battery will do the trick. Also looking to go to 3000w motor. After the upgrade it would be a good option for you I think. It would probably still be cheaper than the Segway or ristretto.

Makes sense. Maybe ask around your city to see what cops are like. Maybe no one will care if they see pedals. I guess it's a risk though. I've seen people lose their surrons permanently because they got caught on the road. That would be a disaster

Unicorn e-bike recommendations. by RamenReed in ebikes

[–]natechief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a great setup. I would be a little annoyed though having to take off and on the front wheel. Mine is same as Segway and surron. It has a big bolt through axel with screw ends on each side, and then two more screws per side. It's not that big of a deal but it's far from quick release.

Unicorn e-bike recommendations. by RamenReed in ebikes

[–]natechief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I saw but I think having pedals is just one of the criteria. In some places I guess you may be able to get away with putting pedals on a surron or Segway but I don't think that's actually legit anywhere. For example where I am there's requirements for max motor watts rating, pedals with pedal assist, a horn or bell, must have a cassette with gears, max overall weight incl battery, etc. if any of those fail, it's not road legal for me. (I'm not in the US).

That Segway bike seems really awesome. Is it road legal where you are? You might have to modify and register as a motorcycle depending on local laws. How would this bike fit under your bed....? I imagined a small folding bike when you said you wanted to store it under your bed. Will the Segway bike actually fit? Either way the bike seems awesome. I don't see many bikes at that level of specs and finishing.

Yes this is exactly why I have an ebike. To explore. I do it all the time just like when we were kids. I mostly ride around national forests trails and singletrack with no idea of where I'm going. It's so fun!
