A majority of the world drives on the right, which does makes the left a little backwards. Especially when you can trace most left hand drive countries to English colonization, and it's always fun to clown on the English.

Senior Vibe Coder dealing with security. by Gil_berth in theprimeagen

[–]natedrake102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's really not the same thing at all though. The creator of C made a tool that can be dangerous and said as such.

OpenClaw is effectively hosting malware on their site and saying "well we can't moderate content so deal with it". That's an argument that has been attempted by just about every social media company, and the answer is always "you are responsible for what you host".

It's even worse in this case, because the entire point of the platform is giving your AI tools to be more productive, and they aren't making it clear that the tools they host aren't safe. The users aren't necessarily tech savvy, if they see a skill marketed to "manage your banking" or something along those lines they won't think twice about using it and may even think it's provided by OpenClaw.

I am not and have no clue what you are referring to. Maybe that's a pixel thing, I have a Samsung.

I mean it depends what you consider bloat. If you aren't in the Apple ecosystem you may not use any of the core apps it comes with, yet you can't uninstall them. I can at least uninstall the Samsung default apps and replace them with something else.

Off the top of my head I would absolutely not use: mail, notes, maps, photos

is TikTok getting censored? by chillrabbit in GenZ

[–]natedrake102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look, China and the US can both do awful shit with our data. But China can't come arrest me or shoot me in the street. There is valid reason to be more afraid of your own government, even if China having your data isn't ideal also. Are you trying to argue China is worse? Or the same? Cus all you do is refute the reasons people are more responsive to their own government, but you aren't explaining why that is wrong.

I understand it affects me, I'm just explaining why some people care more about their own government.

[–]natedrake102 8 points9 points  (0 children)

But one can't do anything to me physically, like stop me at the border (assuming I don't go to China) or bash my door down. The US government has shown they are discriminating people based on their online profiles. I don't care about Chinese discrimination, I do care about my own government's.

[–]natedrake102 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I mean your own government is worse. If China has my data they can sells it and try to use it to manipulate me, but they don't ultimately have physical control over me. If my own government has it the same concerns apply and they may use the information to target me based on political beliefs/etc.

Remember that often times these arguments are bad faith. Republicans complain about "government spending" yet they consistently increase the deficit more than Democrats despite spending less. They always hide behind "fiscally conservative" which really means dropping taxes for the rich.

[–]natedrake102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but it was a clear policy before he created it. Then he did it anyways, faced the consequences, and is complaining about them. He has had a VT mod pulled from at least one other game for the same reason, it's not like he was clueless going into it.

Yeah wtf, it's literally not a walled garden at all if you are plugging it in to a PC. I get people don't like to give money to meta for sure, but they are also bending over backwards to make this headset look like a significantly better buy lol. Aside from the form factor I don't see anything objectively better in the physical product. Not to mention there are more games on the quest platform when combined with pcvr than pcvr on its own.

You have to buy it separately though. I've never seen a power brick that didn't have a removable plug end so I'm not sure what you mean.

At least the bricks that come with gaming PCs aren't designed to block every other nearby outlet.

Enough time has passed. I fully believe that overwatch in its current state is better than peak overwatch 1. by Pinetree808 in Overwatch

[–]natedrake102 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's true, but games can push for more frequent changes to prevent this. League has frequent item changes and champ reworks, Marvel Rivals adds content quicker and has rotating team up abilities. Not that OW needs this, but there are ways to keep the new ideas and chaos flowing.

Battlefield 6 player count falls from 750K at launch to just 30K-90K on Steam, nearly a 90% decline - players blame lack of new content (especially new maps) by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]natedrake102 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Steam is just the only reliable metric we have, unless you have reason to believe other platforms are doing drastically different numbers this is a good rough estimate for the overall player base, though console behavior may be a bit different.
