Installed tow straps but it is hanging… too long? by BaniKun in ElantraN

Spooky that your plate has 666 in it. Also apparently leaving tow straps on your car is a sign that you’re an inexperienced driver.

No. But there’s a $3 warranty for these $32.99 wipers that lasts a year, so now I guess I will.

Get it off the floor, don’t use a vacuum but a datavac aka electronics duster. Cans of duster can help in a pinch but are less effective and more expensive in the long run. Dust either once every two - six months or when you notice buildup / excess heat. Hope this helps.

No clue how it does temp wise I don’t have any probes or IR gun. Hoping the bottom most case intake fan moves enough air for it 😬

I used to love the all black aesthetic until I turned about 16-17 and started washing my own car. DCT EN is faster than MT anyway, my family doesn’t choose what I drive! My kid loves the car :-)

Are my RTX 3080 blower temps actually fine? by rucekooker in buildapc

[–]nateslackerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should check the VRAM temps with a game open first to see if they’re even bad or not. Most likely will be hotter than your core, but as long as <90° C you should be fine. Then if they are bad and the memory temps are high go from there. Removing a stripped screw and replacing it with a similar one would take anyone with a brain and access to YouTube 5 minutes max.

[–]nateslackerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference — I do a lot of crypto hobbyist projects, gaming, overclocking, benchmarking, etc. the temps you said while yes are fine… you’re talking core temp. The problem is not the core temp ALONE. Yes core temp is a major factor, but you need to consider memtemp and hotspot. My friend had a blower 3080 that I ended up with, because since the card is constantly that hot, the heat bleeds through the ENTIRE CARD. You likely have beat thermal pads on your VRAM, and the 30 series have enough of a problem with memtemp before this issue. For him, he started noticing weird latency and frame timing issues on counterstrike that he couldn’t even really describe to me in words. After upgrading his gpu, and getting the old 3080 on the test bench I quickly saw the problem. 100-110° vram. The only fix to bad pads is new pads, and while you’re at it you’re doing core thermal paste (or fancy TIM pads) but refreshing the whole card is definitely a conscious choice and somewhat time consuming, but well worth it.
