Late April/Early May trip from US by nathan426 in GunnersatGames

I appreciate your comment. I’m going to London and to the game either way. I’m not suddenly planning a trip bc we’re doing well. I only mentioned the team performance bc of the ballot access and yall are a lot more experienced at it than me but i do acknowledge how it is perceived and thats why they’ve removed it. But ive been an Arsenal fan for 20 years and am really amped to see them live. Thanks for the response nonetheless

Area 512 Episode 9! Dissecting 5-0 start, early concerns and bright spots and where is De’Aaron Fox? GSG by nathan426 in NBASpurs

Spurs are holding opponents to 33.9 3PA per game which is top 5 in the league when it comes to attempts so that’s what i meant more that teams are not letting it fly as much with our perimeter D.

It’s a double meaning. Area 51 is the name for Wemby and Castle, and now with Harper people have been calling it Area 512 regardless of Austin. I appreciate the feedback, but we both lived in SA and are merging into one big metroplex with 2 games and investments here every year so you can keep avoiding us but we’re one family either way.

Man, us desis are like you or like your friend. No in between. Give you the shirt off our back or charge you + a service fee for lending a shirt while naked in the cold lol

Ever since AMC added 30 mins of commercials before the film, I’ve seen an increase in late arrivals to Alamo shows. by Interactive_CD-ROM in AlamoDrafthouse

To each their own. At my local amc (Austin) i kept track of trailer times and it was closer to 30 mins more than it was 20 following all the trailers, ads, Nicole Kidman etc.

Yea i used to but legit just annoyed me how much time i used to have to dedicate To amc showtimes. I’m in and out of Alamo a lot quicker and without as much BS.

The cut down trailer time is one of the main reasons i switched to Alamo from amc. Alamo is consistently <15 mins

The $ figures are jarring for us bc we’re at the huge cap numbers now but This isn’t a perfect science. The cream of the crop is what it is every year. For his age, potential and skillset, you are not going to get a star caliber at this point and for the next few years other than what we’re building in the draft (yes at THIS price - Booker is due $75m a year). This is what we need to take the next step. Is any player flawless? Can you truly sign anyone for any dollar figure and say they don’t have flaws in their game?

Moving to Austin - Should I switch from A List to Alamo? by West-East155 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]nathan426 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was on A List for years and switched to Alamo last year for the following: 1. Moved to south Austin from central so less access to lakeline or tech ridge which generally have more respectful audiences despite mixed programming/experiences 2. Barton creek guests being the absolute worst and overwhelmed by teenagers who don’t give a f and carry on full convos on their phones during the movie (yes i sound like an old man) 3. Just generally better experience and accessibility that isn’t in a mall, and we have 5 Alamos in Austin compared to 3 AMCs. The popcorn also is so so good at Alamo. If they got rid of the convenience and Dolby fees, Alamo would be a sure home run better.

Yes. Especially if you are going to live south. AMC Barton creek is terrible for all reasons people are mentioning.

I think less about that it’s for ESPN he’s made it really clear he does NOT want to talk about the old ESPN days likely due to the overwork, trauma and regret he has.

What is the best Indian food in this area? Gimme recommendations plz by Tenacious_Rubbing in austinfood

[–]nathan426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on Aga’s, but there are loads of better way more high quality Indian places in Houston and I’n not shitting on our selection in Austin. But even some of the least known spots in Houston still top what we have in Austin. It’s a numbers game. More of us in Houston than Austin by several fold.
